Over its lifetime, the facility has seen many periods of deprecation due to the hostile and sometimes unstable environment surrounding it (being located in two ice caves.)

Following a series of events at TERAPRO, there was renewed interest in the restoration of the Asolab facilities, however this was not acted on for many decades. Furthermore, two completely new sections were constructed - the lower supercomplex and the New Safe Fusion complex.

Sector B (formerly known as Sector N) is responsible for the oversight of teleportation technology, research, and development. In its previous iteration, the Sector B scientists made history as the first to successfully achieve a direct teleport (dimensional relay teleportation had been discovered slightly earlier.) Their flagship project is the Direct Transphysical Translocation Machine, Mk. II, which is used to regularly transport personnel between Asolab and TERAPRO. The "prototype" Mk. I device is situated adjacent to the newer device in the walls of the cave, but the area has been vitrified.
