The '''Dissonance''' is a [[Liminal Sub-Space]] within the [[Backrooms System]] that takes the form of a winding non-Euclidean maze of dimly-lit red-coloured corridors which while being harmless, are notable for inducing feelings of uneasiness and paranoia when alone. The sub-space initially begins with a long hallway that eventually leads to a mostly lightless maze of rooms which branch off into further corridors that lead deeper into the Sub-Space, housing many of the sub-spaces inhabitants that have migrated there due to its ease of access from locations such as [[The Lobby]].

Thanks to its ease of access, the Dissonance hosts a population of 785-810 permanent inhabitants and transitory visitors, of which a vast majority reside within the [[Backrooms Military Administration|Backrooms Military Administration's]] base known as "[[Station Carmine]]", which also acts as the primary headquarters for the group. This base's location in a location with ease of access into the [[SDSB|SDSB's]] bases in The Lobby and the Portal Matrix have often lead to conflicts within this sub-space due to the hostile relations between the SDSB and BMA.
