[[Hyperborean]] high command authorised 'Pre-Execution Plan 8', a surprise naval invasion of [[Svealand]] which commenced as soldiers began landing on Svealand's shores. Svealand was quickly overwhelmed to the point that many [[Kalevian]] volunteers signed up to help defend them, though this soon proved to be ineffective as Svealand capitulated which prompted Kalevala to occupy [[Gotland]] and [[Öland]] in order to prevent them from falling to Svealand. Kalevala attempted to liberate Svealand with an invasion of its southeastern regions, though this soon ended in failure as Kalevala was forced to sign an armistice which only granted its initial occupation zones to a '[[Svealish Junta]]'.
