As a part of this initiative, a special research and cartography vessel named '[[IRIS Craft 'Endeavor'|Endeavor]]' designed for long-distance travel was commissioned and placed into service under the direction of a [[human]] IRIS scientist named "[[Utsebe Bolton]]", though the ship housed a variety of species aboard its crew as it embarked on its 10 year long journey into the galaxy. The ship was packed to the brim with research labs, scanning suites, and other related equipment made possible with the assistance of the IRIS-developed [[Self Evolving Intelligent Research Assistant System|SEIRA system]] (Self Evolving Intelligent Research Assistant) while also conducting tests on faster FTL Travel.
