The CIS government approved additional subsidies to prop up the sector, but most of the funding was lost due to corruption which forced the CIS to more directly govern the area at the cost of gangs such as the '[[Red Skulls]]' '[[Tya's Raiders]]' and '[[Talon Company]]' beginning piracy operations, forcing companies such as [[Aeternus]] to work with pirates as to avoid them interrupting their operations without having to employ expensive private security companies to maintain their ships and infrastructure.
