After revising its foreign policy, [[Lineland]] suddenly accused [[Taiwan]] of sinking a Linelandic ship, prompting Lineland to declare war as it prepared to invade the island in retribution. Taiwan had been placed under the 'protection' of [[Poavak]] after [[World War 7]], prompting them to attempt to intervene before Lineland called their bluff as Poavak was very much weakened by the post-war exhaustion. After seizing control over [[Taipei]], Lineland swiftly managed to occupy the entirety of Taiwan and the nearby unclaimed Ryukyu islands, incorporating both of them as the new [[Taiwan Oblast]].

After successfully annexing Taiwan, the [[New Axis Powers]] were initially quite upset with Lineland until they suddenly asked if Lineland wanted to join them, which it did. [[Sipedro]] then explained the benefits that Lineland would be funded in any way and if it was attacked the rest of the Axis would come to help them.
