Tensions had been increasing rapidly for months between [[Kalevala]], [[Tritonia]], and [[Tanume|Tanumian]] separatists over what would be done about the Baltic lands which were nowadays split between Kalevala and Tritonia, as the former two wished control over the entirety of the region and many locals wished to be their own state. Kalevala and Tritonia decided to try to find a peaceful resolution after [[Belarusia]] recommended going thru the [[Tritonian Council]], leading to the two agreeing to a proposal which surprisingly favoured the Separatists, establishing a new [[Second Republic of Tanume]] as a buffer-state between the two of them.
