Having successfully fought for their continued existence, all Tarosian states finally unified under the Confederation of Taros, with the region finally managing to shake off the threat of the Elder Gods and internal struggles as they now could achieve peace and go beyond their previous confines.		Left without leadership, The Celestial Army’s forces in the Taros Cluster dispersed and fled back to their now leaderless ‘fiefdom’, where chaos was sure to soon erupt. 			On the day the High Priest’s Clone fell the people of the Taros Cluster rejoiced, for their world was now finally free. Despite this victory, soon enough a rancid creep was sighted consuming the land. While this Hive would one day be seemingly defeated and purged, it was too late, as the blood of an Elder God had already touched the ground. A seed of the Hive laid waiting, despite what was done to its growth.

			As time went on, and the people of the Taros Cluster slowly forgot of the Hive’s existence as much of it had been purged. Despite their wishes, this infection inevitably reawakened, growing deeper and deeper, pumping the infection further and further beyond their notice. Once The Herald passed after decades of the Taros Cluster being at peace, ‘The Hive’ ended up revealing itself as it breached the surface of the Taros Cluster’s planets once more and swiftly consumed it. The life of the cluster was slowly mutated and contorted, being assimilated into the new organism’s hivemind.

			As time goes on the Hive’s infection has grown to cover nearly all of the Taros Cluster, morphing it into a new monstrosity tasked with a single purpose, to create the late High Priest’s army. With the rogue Wei’virs having wiped out most of the Elder Overseers, the Hive has inadvertently been left with a golden opportunity to recreate the High Priest to rule over the newly produced ‘[[Fifth Race]]’ created to carry out the High Priest’s will.

			Despite countless attacks from eldritch forces, the Tarosians had never considered the possibility of extraterrestrial life, until they eventually came under attack by such a force…

			These supposed extraterrestrials were never a hostile people however, instead pursuing the development of technology and enlightenment on their homeworld for countless years. Though unlike the Taros Cluster, they had no divine forces of nature to keep their world in balance, allowing their world to slowly succumb to pollution and overpopulation. Their world had become barren and lifeless, only allowing them to survive in artificial habitats. For years to come they worked on a way out of their prison.

			While a few colonisation missions were launched to nearby worlds, they found every nearby system to be just as barren as theirs, only managing to set up small outposts with no solution in sight. The only habitable planets they knew of were those of the Taros Cluster, but that region had been subjugated by elder gods they wished not to provoke, right? Once they looked upon the Taros Cluster once more, they discovered it free of their supposed occupiers and recovering, deeming that conquest of these worlds was their only way to salvation.

			They deemed that the decimation of the Cluster’s population made it an easy target, and thus began to retrofit their existing technology with weapons of war so that a targeted strike could be launched.

			The Tarosians had thought they were finally free, with their worlds liberated of the cosmic forces, until they came. Giant metallic ships dropping off countless terrestrial assault crafts descended upon the worlds of the Taros Cluster, incinerating everything in their path. Unlike each other invasion, this was not to subjugate or to bring forth a disease in the land itself, this was a systematic extermination.
			Within mere weeks large swaths of the cluster had fallen under the control of the Xarins, until the Herald once more emerged, helping the Tarosians push back all the way to the Xarin Motherships where engineers constantly brought forth more forces to replace the few losses that had come. Within a fairly short battle, the motherships were destroyed.

			Following the destruction of the invasion force’s central command, the ships and warmachines of the Xarin fell lifeless, allowing the remaining invasion force to swiftly be mopped up and analysed for reverse-engineering purposes.

			===The Pruina Reigndom===
			Following the reconstitution of civilisation, a small monarchy emerged in the frozen wastes of the Taros Cluster. While it had a small population and little resources, it managed to prosper for some time until catastrophe struck. In a mysterious event, the sole heir of the monarchy had gone missing shortly before the death of its final queen, leaving the former kingdom in chaos and uncertainty. While democracy was briefly attempted, eventually a vast majority of its inhabitants fled abroad in order to seek a better life away from the frost. Eventually their missing heir returned, although changed by some supernatural force with a new mission of enacting punishment on all those who had ever wronged. Newly re-established, the restored monarchy began rapid militarization, incorporating the creatures of the tundra and various scavenged technologies into its army. While occasional attacks have come from this force, its eventual success or failure is still in question.
			===The Great Machine===
			After years of torment, the reanimated pieces of the now long-dead Clone of the High Priest were finally slain, though beings like the Elder Gods never truly died, resisting their fates with all their might. This time would be no different, as The High Priest seethed with rage after the defeat of various of his assets in the Taros Cluster putting the birth of his perfect army in jeopardy. He knew sending more forces directly into the Taros Cluster could easily be met with failure, so he conceived of a new plan unlike any other. This plan would be such that even the Elder Gods themselves were angered by his machinations, stating their uninvolvement and often even turning against him. One would even launch an attack on him, which would only serve to improve his plot.

			Having seen all and knowing all that was to come, [[The Beyond One]], an elder god, worked to prevent the inevitable destruction that would be brought about by the High Priest by acting now. Despite his omniscience, even this being could not stand up to the combined forces of the High Priest and his forces. While The Beyond One managed to retreat his consciousness out to the Noosphere, the body he inhabited was captured and killed by the High Priest and his forces.

			The High Priest dissected this corpse, studying its nature, hoping to consume the knowledge it held. After enough knowledge had been salvaged, he uncovered a method that could bring immortality back to the fallen, and likely even himself. He commanded his forces to extract resources, forging an [[The Great Machine\|unfathomable cosmic machine]] out of The Beyond One’s corpse.

			Though thoughts pulsed through this new being’s brain, it was completely unaware of its own existence and purpose, something more had to be done. The High Priest decided that this creation was of too high importance to allow it to be given commands that could be misunderstood, thus he ripped himself apart, sacrificing a part of his body to the great machine so he may directly control it. This gave him direct control of the machine, feeling its tendrils and mechanical limbs pulse to life.

			The Machine was tasked with the production of assets for the High Priest’s reign, and so it began to work. 			The Slayer of The Clone, seeking only to protect the Taros Cluster from threats, unwittingly unleashed a curse against death during his final quest. This act caused the reanimation of nearly all Tarosians, trapping them into a perpetual cycle of death and rebirth with no escape for years to come. Even after he too one day would die as the effigy his soul was bound to was burned so that the essences of light and dark bound to the beast in The Core, he too would be forcefully reborn, remembering everything that had occurred.

			Following the formation of an army of his own, the Lone Explorer stopped providing the Garjans with resources, organising to launch a pre-emptive strike against the Garjans. They pushed to the Marble Caverns with relative ease, although started facing stiff resistance upon arriving at the caverns themselves.
			Due to both armies rapidly reconstituting, the Garjans saw the ensuing stalemate as something they could not stand for long term, prompting them to re-bury themselves with the aim of re-emerging once they were more powerful.

			Following the defeat of the Garjans, the Lone Explorer dispersed his army to do what they pleased, returning to his work on a cure for the curse that afflicted him and his people.

			===The Lone Explorer (Part 2)===
			After countless years on his part, the explorer managed to regenerate to the point of slowly regaining some kind of movement. He had little hope that anyone at the old Cave Dweller camp was left, but he had nothing else to turn to, leading him to drag his broken body towards the camps.
			Eventually he managed to come across the camp, now dusty and abandoned. He was not aware of where they had gone, but remained to study the surroundings to find a source for his curse. He eventually managed to see several limoans bathing in the camp’s water supply, giving him the impression that somehow their presence had caused the curse. Seeking to restore his body to at least some degree, he consumed one of the Limoans for their seemingly regenerative properties. While this did restore his mind, his body remained skeletal, yet at least functional.

			In order to further research this phenomena, and to restore both himself and his people, he set out to look for enough resources to begin conducting research. During these travels he encountered several artefacts, and even a few other survivors, all of whom had fallen to insanity.
			He had managed to eventually collect enough resources via a myriad of means to begin conducting his research, eventually creating some kind of oil out of the Limoans which he suspected to be the cause behind their life-granting abilities, which he managed to use to some degree of success.
			Thus, he travelled out once more to find and restore as much of his people as he could, only to unveil something much darker.
