'''The Chasm''' is a [[Liminal Spaces|Liminal Space]] within the [[Backrooms System]] that takes the form of a massive canyon or trench made out of grey rock, with several additional canyons which extend out of its edges into other directions. The Chasm has one of the highest populations out of any known Liminal Space despite its very hostile climate. The Chasm is often frequented by violent rain or windstorms which can make navigation more dangerous than it already would be, although this has recently been helped by the construction of several wooden bridges. Additionally the Chasm is usually colder than most other Liminal Spaces, averaging at 8°C.

As of further explorations taken in the Limspace in 341 have proven that The Chasm is one of the only known Limspaces to be able to house a self sufficient population as some areas of the canyons have been found capable of growing large edible fungi. No settlements thus far have been constructed in the fungi areas yet though.

Point Beta is one of the largest settlements under the rule of the SDSB. Point Beta is primarily composed of urban residential and commercial habitats carved into the walls of The Chasm, all connected via tunnels and bridges. The total population of Point Beta is approximately 16 Thousand, making it the most populated colony within The Chasm.
===Darktowne===
Darktowne is a small residential settlement built and managed by CUDO. Darktowne is a fairly dark labyrinth of apartments, though this darkness has caused it to have a more limited population.
===New New York===
New New York is a small residential settlement built and managed by CUDO. It is by far the most expensive and luxurious place to live within The Chasm, as while it may be carved into the walls of the Chasm, it houses a fairly typical cityscape with restaurants, shops, and apartment buildings.

The SDSB owns 2 "Joint SDSB Storage Units" operated by both them and the SDS Foundation. For the most part these outposts are solely filled with warehouses of supplies, some more abnormal objects are sometimes also held there.
===Station Canyon===
[[Station Canyon]] is an outpost of the Backrooms Military Administration located near the water level of The Chasm, and is thus intended to eb accessed via boats. It features roughly 80 personnel at all times, and is generally utilised for asset management and monetary uses.
