			Deep in the jungles of Taros-6 lays a vast construct housing the last of the Serellians, a reptilian species who had nearly gone extinct due to infighting over a century ago. This construct was sealed shut, for these were the final remains of the Lunar Nation, religious fanatics who were twisted by their race’s final war. During their imprisonment they produced various devices of incredible power capable of influencing the wills of the greatest of beings, turning the defence mechanisms of the construct from protecting them, to protecting others from them. They sat idly, waiting for an opportunity to break free of their tomb…

			Having destroyed the various monstrosities assembled in The Great Machine that had plaguing the Taros Cluster, the Herald journeyed to Taros-6 to investigate rumours of threats existing in its jungles. After slaying its guardians, the Herald opened the vast construct, revealing its occupants. Believing they had quelled all threats within the jungles, the Herald returned back to civilization to protect it from future threats. But what they did not know is they had unwittingly released a much greater threat than they set out to destroy, for the zealots inside were now released.

			The followers of the Lunar Nation left their tomb and travelled to the now long-abandoned Beacon constructed by Nthanithor, praying and speaking to their ‘great lunar god’ of their devotion. After weeks of prayer, their god spoke back. While they had received incoherent screams and brief visions in the past, this time their god, the High Priest, spoke directly to them. He revealed that he did indeed know of the Taros Cluster, and was pleased that he had such loyal subjects, but now was not the time for his coming. First the Taros Cluster must be prepared for his arrival, its population must be purged. To achieve this the High Priest taught the Lunarists a ritual which would summon four pylons that each acted as a portal for The Celestial Army to spill out onto the Taros Cluster.
			Soon the activities of the Lunar Nation caught the attention of the Herald, who engaged in battle with them. It was too late however, as the last cultist was struck down the ritual was completed, summoning The Celestial Army to the Taros Cluster.

			The High Priest’s armies were faltering against the Tarosians… This was all or nothing, he could no longer hide in the background and was forced to finally intervene, personally arriving in the Taros Cluster to beat it into submission. His great plan was no longer a secret. His plans against the Elder Overseers were beginning to unravel, and they were coming for him. The Battle of Taros must succeed, or it would all be for nothing…

			Already somewhat injured by the carnage of the battle as Tarosian after Tarosian under the leadership of The Herald attacked him, the High Priest saw them arriving in the skies, the Elder Overseers of Xoth had arrived… He was too slow. The Elder Overseers looked upon the supposed ‘runt of the litter’ with anger, having quickly gathered that what was going on here was a scheme against them and their supremacy. They together launched a focused attack onto The High Priest, depriving him of his power just long enough that The Herald and his armies managed to strike a killing blow, killing the High Priest once and for all.
			Left without leadership, The Celestial Army’s forces in the Taros Cluster dispersed and fled back to their now leaderless ‘fiefdom’, where chaos was sure to soon erupt. Having successfully fought for their continued existence, all Tarosian states finally unified under the Confederation of Taros, with the region finally managing to shake off the threat of the Elder Gods and internal struggles as they now could achieve peace and go beyond their previous confines.

			After years of torment, the reanimated pieces of the now long-dead Clone of the High Priest were finally slain, though beings like the Elder Gods never truly died, resisting their fates with all their might. This time would be no different, as The High Priest seethed with rage after the defeat of various of his assets in the Taros Cluster putting the birth of his perfect army in jeopardy. He knew sending more forces directly into the Taros Cluster could easily be met with failure, so he conceived of a new plan unlike any other. This plan would be such that even the Elder Gods themselves were angered by his machinations, stating their uninvolvement and often even turning against him. One would even launch an attack on him, which would only serve to improve his plot.

			Having seen all and knowing all that was to come, [[The Beyond One]], an elder god, worked to prevent the inevitable destruction that would be brought about by the High Priest by acting now. Despite his omniscience, even this being could not stand up to the combined forces of the High Priest and his forces. While The Beyond One managed to retreat his consciousness out to the Noosphere, the body he inhabited was captured and killed by the High Priest and his forces.

			The High Priest dissected this corpse, studying its nature, hoping to consume the knowledge it held. After enough knowledge had been salvaged, he uncovered a method that could bring immortality back to the fallen, and likely even himself. He commanded his forces to extract resources, forging an [[The Great Machine\|unfathomable cosmic machine]] out of The Beyond One’s corpse.

			Though thoughts pulsed through this new being’s brain, it was completely unaware of its own existence and purpose, something more had to be done. The High Priest decided that this creation was of too high importance to allow it to be given commands that could be misunderstood, thus he ripped himself apart, sacrificing a part of his body to the great machine so he may directly control it. This gave him direct control of the machine, feeling its tendrils and mechanical limbs pulse to life.

			Using all their might to blind the High Priest of their actions, the Wei’virs descended upon Taros Prime to seek out [[Slayer of the Clone\|the man who slayed The Clone]]. They came across a broken person, one whom had been weakened, and continuously haunted by the writhing beast his soul now inhabited. For ages now this man had been searching for a successor, one which could free the Taros Cluster.
			Even when the Wei’virs presented themselves, he disregarded their offer, as an offer such as theirs could only be a trick of The Hive, yet it was not, as they showed him everything. This vision lasted for mere moments, yet it was all he needed to be convinced, despite knowing of the Wei’virs intentions if the High Priest were to have been destroyed.
			Given the man’s failure at finding a successor, the Wei’virs instead proposed to instead create one, one which they could supply with weapons and armour capable of resisting even the might of the gods themselves. All they needed from the man was a genetic template, one which they could use to create such a hero. While they could provide it form, they could not provide knowledge or direction, thus the man was tasked with teaching this hero what needed to be done.
			Before any of this could be done however, the man would need to go on one last quest, one to retrieve an elixir of life, one which could reconstitute the hero lest they fall to the myriad of threats they would be tasked with destroying. While the darkness the use of such an artifact may release could be dire, a curse is nothing compared to eternal salvation.

			Thus, the man set forth for one final time. Initially he began his quest by seeking out knowledge, inquiring from the peoples of the Taros Cluster of where such an elixir could be found, hearing tales of its origins as the final sample of primordial ooze all life in the Taros cluster had emerged from. Once he came across the peoples of the frozen north of Taros Prime, an oddity was discovered. The peoples of these lands had a truly impressive lifespan, living countless years while still appearing youthful. He was close, so he sought out to look around here. He inquired of the people’s old tales, learning of pilgrimages to a supposed shrine of youth, which he followed in order to discover a strange opening deep underground which contained the [[Elixir of Life\|elixir of life]] he had been seeking.

			Following the supposed death of The Clone, the man who slayed it returned to his perceived normal life, seeking to spend the most of his time alive peacefully, though this would not happen.
			A mere year after the death of the Clone, rumours that an eerie creep which had devoured the land spread across the populace. The fear of such a force was so great that a majority of the man’s village had abandoned their homes and fled to safety, though he still lingered, seeking to purge this threat as well. He once more left his home, heading towards the supposed “[[The Hive\|hive]]”.

			This land was something that could not be conjured by even the most terrible of nightmares, as living tissue and fluids coated every surface, only interrupted by vast maws descending deep into the ground. He descended into the vast blood-vessel-like tunnels, eventually coming across a piece of the High Priest’s Clone’s remains, which seemingly been orchestrating the spread of this cursed terrain, pumping it throughout the world.
			The man did not know if he could beat this creature, but before he had time to think yet more of The Clones disembodied parts emerged, launching an attack upon him. While he managed to scare off the newly alive ‘things’, he was unable to slay the main piece commanding this rot.

			Seeing as this new land clearly posed a threat to the Taros Cluster once more, the man sought out the only place in the Taros Cluster which would hold such esoteric knowledge, [[Nthanithor’s Beacon]]. While all others that came before its structure had been slain by its lone occupant’s partially dead master, the man was granted one time access to its deepest secrets, as Nthanithor seemingly had some grievances of his own with The High Priest.
			In these studies, the man eventually discovered some kind of truth, finding out that the beast he had killed was a mere clone of a much more powerful deity, whom had been using it as a puppet, and that it had managed to bind the power of light in the deepest lands of the Taros Cluster’s core world, tasking the creatures of the fiery depths with protecting the bound essence.

			Following the end of The Rot, all seemed well for the Tarosians as their homes were now free, yet it was not long until the High Priest’s Clone made his presence known.
			Following the Clone’s subjugation of Subaquia, The Oceans, and even The Purity, he made himself known, emerging from the seas, wiping out countless coastal settlements.

			A certain individual however had prepared for his coming, a seemingly unassuming Tarosian who grew up on the stories of the blazing star coming down from the sky several years prior, fearing that it may once again be a threat to the cluster’s way of life. Upon the arrival of stories of survivors from The Clone’s attacks, the man studied what was already found out. According to the tales the occasional attempts to fight back had in fact harmed Elder God, sometimes even severely, although it always had managed to regenerate. While the beast being nigh-unkillable worried the man, he decided to set forth regardless, with a plan that just might succeed.

			The man arrived to where the god was, taunting it, slicing at it with every opening. While many others had simply marched forward and perished, this man put considerable effort into avoiding every blow. He did not focus for perceived “weak points”, instead focusing on tearing it apart, eventually managing to find an opening to deal the final blow, dissecting and tearing apart the elder god so that it may no longer reconstitute.

	The news of this event spread quickly among the pirates, as more and more fleets signed up for the Clone’s offering, bringing him the resources he desired at an acceptably fast pace, while also forming the first contingents of his army on Taros Prime. 			===Guardian of the Fortress===
			Not all life in the Taros Cluster fit into the grand plan of its existence, many lifeforms simply existed for their own benefit, such as the [[Borgons]], a strange species of non-sapient cave-dwelling mammaloids which had adapted to feed off of the Cluster’s abundant elemental energy reserves. During the age of The Rot these beings had thrived, while now their population had begun greatly shrinking. Because of this, several Borgons had spread across the world in order to seek more power to continue to feed. One had even scoured the entire world, only coming across the remaining seas, but this had not stopped its determination for more, thus it entered the seas, eventually coming across The High Priest’s Clone.

			Instead of merely killing the creature, the Clone demanded an explanation of why a creature of this world actively sought out power from beings like him. The creature explained how it wished to serve and bask in the power serving granted. The Clone was amused by this, and decided to humour the creature’s wishes by transforming it into a more aquatic lifeform which could serve as a protector of his fortress. Being reinvigorated with power, this Borgon set out on the task it was granted, and began to defend the great fortress.

			The spread of The Purity angered The High Priest’s Clone, whom became concerned that its spread would impede his objectives in the Taros Cluster, and thus he intervened. In the ensuing battle, the High Priest eventually gained the upper hand, destroying the being of purity in the process. This being however still held potential though, reconstituting itself immediately in order to continue the fight. The High Priest saw this nuisance as one which could easily impede their plans, thus he decided to seal it away so that it may no longer rise.

None of these plans were shared with the High Priest though, since the Wei'virs were even more conniving and intelligent than even him. Now that all had been settled, once the High Priest's time had come to an end, a far greater threat may be unleashed on the universe, but for now the Wei'virs plans and influence lays dormant, allowing the High Priest to continue with his plans as they schemed in the shadows.
