'''The Mist''' is a [[Liminal Sub-Space]] within the [[Backrooms System]] that takes the form of a large, misty crater. This crater is surrounded by vast stone walls which seemingly go on forever. The most notable feature of the crater is the vast layer of grey mist. It is not recommended to enter the mist, as no one has ever entered it has returned. Because of this it is not recommended to enter the level at night, as the Mist tends to rise above the level's entrance during night time.

The Mist is among one of the smallest [[Liminal Spaces]] on record, as the crater is only a few hundred meters wide. Though despite this several unique areas are located in the Sub-Space. The most notable of these is known as the "Hidden Halls", a small sandy labyrinth with a secret exit from the level, allowing it to be used as an emergency exit to avoid fighting the level's entities.

== Demographics ==
The Mist lacks a permanent human population, with occasional groups of up to 4 transitory visitors. This is primarily due to the presence of [[The Triplets]], a collection of 3 highly powerful entities that prowl the level. Other entities found on the level include the likes of the Triplets' minions, and possibly even The Mist itself.

A tunnel can be found in the cliffs of [[The Chasm]] that leads here.
* Jumping down a storm drain in [[The Maple Forest]]'s Road sends you here.

* Defeating The Triplets gives one access to a small rest-stop which has an exit to [[Heaven (Liminal Space)|Heaven]].
* Entering a cave in wall surrounding the crater leads to the Hidden Halls, which contains an exit to [[The Desert]] at its end.
