=== Secessionist Phase ===
After World War 2 had finally come to an end, Yetia fell into a devastating economic recession due to the death and destruction of the war, leading to great civil unrest as Yetians could no longer afford many basic necessities. This crisis would quickly escalate, with several uprisings occurring in some of the poorer regions of the country as the North Italian Republic, Turkish Republic, English Republic, and Crimean Republic all seceded from Yetia, which was soon followed by fighting beginning between Yetia and Choros due to Choros not withdrawing its military from Yetia following the World War.

Once the revolts began, the Yetian army was quickly mobilized and sent in to deal with the issue, rapidly pushing in against all of its foes, making use of their weak militia-based armies to quickly crush all resistance with little opposition, leading to all revolts surrendering and Choros agreeing to a white peace once the situation had been stabilised. Humanitarian efforts to prevent further uprisings were attempted, especially by Sizzle.

=== Inter-Yetian Phase ===
Once the revolts had been put down, largescale anti-government movements organized by the Yetian National Front, a political party which had emerged from the remnants of the Yetian Imperial Party, began to put strain on the government's hold onto power. Abard was quick to offer support to this movement, which they accepted despite Sizzle's vocal opposition to this cooperation, demanding they stop due to Abard's responsibility in starting World War 2. The ruling Social Democratic Party of Yetia was quick to take note of this situation, and exposed the YNF's origins in the YIP to foster opposition against them, leading to most of the left supporting the YSDP and much of the right supporting the YNF, leading to more riots. The government asked Sizzle for help against this discontent, warning that if the YNF was to succeed they may attempt to create a new empire. Sizzle first suggested assassinations, which were exposed, leading to Sizzle suggesting rigging the vote. Yetia held an opinion poll regarding the situation, with 57% of the country saying they would support the YNF. The YNF would counter the various arguments made by Sizzle and Yetia by calling them lies opposed to Yetian glory. Anti-YNF movements also began to emerge, with riots opposing them quickly emerging as the situation became increasingly polarised. A monarchist faction lead by the Yetian Monarchist Party would soon emerge, declaring the Kingdom of Yetia. Soon afterwards the YNF also proclaimed the Second Yetian Empire, which followed by the SDPY declaring the Yetian Commonwealth.

The fuse was lit, and Yetia soon exploded into chaos as the Empire rose up in rebellion against the current monarchy, which itself was deposed by the parliament leading to the anti-YNF opposition fracturing into the Kingdom and Commonwealth camps. The alps were quick to fall to the Empire while the monarchists managed to secure Newtown and Yetia City, leaving Germany as the base of operations for the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth put its initial focus eastwards, hoping to secure the loyalty of the poorer eastern regions of the country, which was contrasted by the Empire securing the alps due to their significance as a weapons depot during World War 1. The Commonwealth was quick to gain the upper hand, with several peripheral provinces that had only recently been in revolt declaring their loyalty due to the Commonwealth's more democratic policies.
