Researchers at 'Universidad de los Montañas' in Ciudad Gris discovered that a mysterious substance found in the region of Vulcán is able to be turned into a incredibly compact fuel source, which the neighbouring nation of Bingusia decided to exploit by selling the material to external states in return for being paid in fighter-jets (with one kilogram of Mystery Goop being worth one fighter jet). Seeking to seize the resource for themselves, Ciudad Gris forged a document from 285 which claimed that the region was actually a part of Pueblo de Playa (a region owned by Ciudad Gris) while also funding an insurgent group known as 'Lorenzo's Legion' to launch attacks encouraging the region to be ceded to Ciudad Gris. Meanwhile, Bingusia and Llanuratierra signed a revised trade agreement where Llanuratierra would pay two fighter-jets per kilogram in return for processed ore, though these trades began being attacked by Lorenzo's legion. Once West Susçir began also trading with Bingusia (providing unprocessed ore for Mystery Goop) and getting raided, the three nations proclaimed Lorenzo's Legion to be a terrorist organization and declared war on Ciudad Gris for their involvement.

As war broke out, West Swagonia demanded answers regarding what was going on, to which Ciudad Gris explained that they had been arresting 'innocent non-terroristic freedom fighters', which was sufficient to convince West Swagonia to join their side. Both Ciudad Gris and West Swagonia launched attacks into Bingusia. Dunavodia, Imperial Swagonia, and Baitang colluded to seize the Mystery Goop deposits for themselves so that the 'commies and libs' wouldn't have exclusive access to the resource, declaring war and extracting the resource remotely from their navy ships via "Goop-picker-upper-inator" mechanical shovels. Ciudad Gris and West Swagonian forces rather quickly overwhelmed Bingusia (which Llanuratierra and West Suscir weren't able to do much about other than fortifying and 'honking semi-truck horns'), prompting the CSIS and Polsk to intervene by occupying the mining sites to prevent fighting there in order to establish a 'stable and neutral trade with many companies', but the others saw this as a stupid idea. Despite the intervention, Bingusia was regardless split between Ciudad Gris and West Swagonia. Growing increasingly concerned, Floppa City proposed military action in the region while its ally of Svahkaonie remained hesitant beyond setting up defences, though once Ciudad Gris forces reached their borders the two alongside their ally of Tierra Flopeste intervened against all sides. Meanwhile, Universidad de los Montañas discovered that the goop easily exploded.

Seeking to assist its socialist allies against the advancing anarchists, Bingland and its ally of PR Plompystan declared war on Ciudad Gris' side, though due to them having no sea access to support their allies they launched an invasion of Imperial Swagonia which brought the Ciudad Gris -led 'Vulcán Liberation Pact' into war against the Baitang-led 'Pan-Orientalis National Legion', which promptly recruited 'Ard Algharb (a protectorate of Dunavodia) and the Floppa Clan to their side. The Plompystan Free State also intervened in the war on the Pro-Bingusian side in order to reunite the rest of their land as the PONL wasn't at war with them yet, though shortly afterwards conflict breaking out between the PONL and the Sogga Union (+ its puppet of Könbatscir) over a Dunavodian ultimatum for military access led to the Free State being brought against the PONL anyway as Könbatyscir retreated into its land. Bingland suffered many casualties against the PONL due to its relatively underequipped army, prompting Bingterra to join the Pro-Bingusians to seize land. The VLP was unsure of what to do to assist its fight (aside from Lorenzo's Legion suggesting terrorist attacks on Polsk), meanwhile Bongo and Bingustan sided with the Pro-Bingusians in order to give rise to a "New Orientalis Liberation Front", struggling against the PONL (with Bongo and Bingustan swiftly being occupied) while seeing successes against the VLP. Bingland had been cut in half by enemy forces, thus the 'western' part of its country began operating independently to continue the fight despite a largescale insurgency by the 'Altilai Insontestes Milites'. Having captured many territories, the Tierraconfluencia Pact agreed to a ceasefire with the other sides before confederating into the 'United Communes of the Yanz', which was later renamed to the 'United Communes of Altilai'. After some time, Polsk and the CSIS decided that intervention in some form may be necessary and settled on joining the NOLF. The Binglandish Western Military District rather quickly collapsed in on itself as it failed to contain the AIM insurgency, giving rise to the Republic of West Altilai, which signed an armistice with the NOLF and shortly afterwards became a co-belligerent. While Llanuratierra was advancing into Ciudad Gris, a naval invasion from Imperial Swagonia struck the other side of Ciudad Gris' territories.

By the end of 326, the CSIS managed to attain full aerial superiority over the VLP and PONL, while to the east PONL forces launched an offensive into West Swagonia while the VLP was busy with the defence of the rapidly falling Ciudad Gris (City). The United States of Orientalis involved itself to a limited degree, sending support to the NOLF, while to the west PONL forces began integrating former Bingusian territories into Imperial Swagonia which the VLP attempted to resist via mobilizing tanks and aircrafts to the fight as the battle of Ney Vilne began. Quickly seeing no hope in victory, the VLP attempted to settle a conditional peace, but due to the PONL's demands of complete annexation any such attempts failed as they opted to fight to the last man. West Swagonia's positions in Ney Vilne were outflanked by Dunavodian rafts equipped with engines, while Ciudad Gris lost not only its capital and namesake, but Pueblo de Playa and Persia Nuu as well, leading to West Swagonia's fall as a military coup took place right before the nation fully collapsed with the eastern regions breaking away under the 'Labour Front of West Swagonia' which joined the UCA, whom also occupied most remaining VLP territories it could as the alliance's members fell one by one. Once Ciudad Gris and West Swagonia fell, Sogga Union force reinstated Bingusia and began sending support to Bingterra while the PONL failed to convince the UCA to give them military access to 'east' Altilai.

With the VLP defeated, Llanuratierra proposed the establishment of an "East Altilai Union" in order to better coordinate their efforts, which Sogga Union (after realising that Sogger Sogson died 80 years ago thus they wouldn't be ruled by "sleepy bingus"), Llanuratierra, Occupied Ciudad Gris, Bingusia, and West Susçir all agreed to join much to the celebration of remaining Pan-Felinists. West Altilai had an internal debate if it should later join the EAU, with the AYA and RSB milities being in favour while the AIM was initially apprehensive until being convinced to join elect neoconservatives into power. Major fighting began in the western jungles as Baitang's elite forces fought against West Altilai, soon advancing into Bingterra's "Yuzhnyy-Bingusgrad Valley". The UCA made its armistice with the NOLF permanent, returning its area of Bingusia in return for being promised the rest of West Swagonia after the war, leading to major fighting as the NOLF gained a bridgehead on the west of the Jun River which forced both sides to fortify. Once remaining Bongo forces were cleared out, Baitang established the 'Reorganized National Government of Bongo' to govern the regions which weren't incorporated into itself or Dunavodia.

Once Imperial Swagonia captured Bingbong (which capitulated Bingland), Floppa Clan realised it wasn't even getting anything out of the war and kept insisting that it would withdraw the war, with even ceding them a port in Bingterra failing to convince them to stay, thus the rest of the PONL betrayed them as they had planned on doing after the war, launching a coup and rapid invasion of Floppa Clan they weren't able to fight against, though at least Polsk managed to use the invasion of the Floppa Clan as a distraction to advance in eastern Bingterra towards Zelenaya Dolina (and finally returning the Altilai International Airport to the EAU) alongside the EAU whom began kicking Imperial Swagonian forces out of the east bank of the Jun. Seeing no way to attain victory, the Floppa Clan began to fall to disarray as its peripheral territories were occupied by the EAU and the neutral Oriento, with the remaining Floppa Clan forces in Floppascus soon capitulating as well with only the insurgent 'Essorital Resistance Army' keeping up the fight.
