President Johan Kraag of Lizarb passed away, prompting the Central Committee of Socialists to begin the process of deciding a new president. President Johan Kraag of Lizarb passed away, prompting the Central Committee of Socialists to begin the process of deciding a new president. Taking advantage of the power vacuum, exiled Lizarbian right-wingers came into contact with various right-wing and anti-communist groups in the Cayenne area as well as hiring Lustlandian and Brazilian mercenaries. In the 5th of November 253 these various anti-communists coalesced into the 'Coalizão Nacional' and staged a coup by seizing buildings and enacting infrastructure sabotage in Cayenne as their paramilitants invaded the city's beaches, prompting Lizarb to mobilize a response alongside its ally Dzaphania. In an initial breakthrough, the Coalizao Nacional managed to capture Cayenne itself and much of the surrounding area up to the outskirts of Kourou, though increasingly large government reinforcements managed to push them back to a perimeter between the Cayenne River and Mahury River aside from a small pocket of Lustlandian mercenaries near Kourou.
