The Khervi are a sapient humanoid species native*[1] to the planet Guang-xan found at grid O14 in the Milky Way Galaxy's inner regions. Much like many other species in this region, the Khervi are descended from the now extinct and diverged 'Sollurians', sharing their human-like bodily layout and facial markings. Khervi are largely hairless beyond their scalp, and mostly consist of various shades of blue on their skin. On their face they have various 'markings' composed of dull-yellow-coloured hardened skin, with occasional variances occurring among their people that occur either due to genetics or by artificial modifications.

Culturally, Khervi are well-known for their belief in popular participation and collective struggle which developed thanks to their homeworld's vast rainforests concentrating them into smaller communities where cooperating against external threats was ideal, thus once they eventually unified after managing to develop enough to largely mitigate their planets' hostile environments, extending their cooperative structure to their civilization as a whole, which they named 'Xan' after the term for 'wider community'. Once they began incorporating additional planets, each planet became its own 'community' part of the wider Xan community, viewing most other cultures as their own 'Xans' aside from those which are seen as wholly incompatible with their values, viewing such peoples with great concern. Despite their community-driven and democratic way of behaviour, the Khervi are surprisingly efficient in military matters thanks to a form of meritocracy where those which prove to bring significant value to the Xan are to be rewarded for their actions, allowing them to climb up the ranks of the military thanks to the 'value of protection'. The Xan and the Khervi as a whole became spacefaring thousands of years in the past, eventually becoming one of the founding-members of the Galactic Federation as what would later become the 'Xan Collective' which nowadays acts as one of the member polities of the Second Galactic Federation. A plurality of Khervi still reside within the borders of the Xan, though many have moved across the Galactic Federation as one of its most populous species. Some Khervi have even moved beyond the Federation into the various members of the Galactic Community, making use of their proficiency in diplomacy and the military to gain notoriety as reliable figures throughout the galaxy.

  1. The Khervi are not descended from life native to their home-world of Guang-xan, and are instead a divergent group from a previous now-extinct interstellar species that had colonised it in the past.
