The Intermarium was a Political, Economic, and Military alliance between several 'central european' nations located in the traditional borderlands between Yetian and Tritonian spheres of influence, surviving as one of Yata's predominant political power blocs before being defeated by a the combined effort of Europe's left-leaning states.
The Intermarium was established in 402 as the nations of Zapadoslavia, Jugoslavija, and Shqiperia ratified the Treaty of Sarajevo which establishes the Intermarium as a international bloc intended to benefit each member nation's joint economic and geopolitical goals, as well as cooperate on military matters in order to secure their joint interests defined as Anti-Yetian, Anti-Tritonian, Anti-Unifist, Anti-Socialist/Communist, and Pro-Democratic, which the Treaty defines as values that are to be defended via whatever force deemed necessary. Additional nation-states such as Vedagyar and Tanume were added to the bloc following invasions by the other members of the Intermarium with the goal of overthrowing their socialist governments, which were highly successful and met with some degree of public support in the nations, as no territorial concessions were demanded and democratic elections were held shortly after each operation. Kalevala additionally ratified the Treaty of Sarajevo and joined the Intermarium following these military operations, which Kalevala supported. Following the unification of western europe under the Socialist Union of Europe, the Intermarium launched a full-scale invasion of western europe and Scandinavia, which initially was greatly successful. The Intermarium fared much worse in the insurgency-war that followed this victory, forcing them to concede to a much more condition peace treaty in which much of western europe was returned to the Western European Provisional Government, although regardless they did gain the friendly states of Scandinavia, Germania, Triveneto, Corsica, and Sardigna as new allies carved out of the ruins of the Socialist Union of Europe, which would soon directly join the Intermarium alongside England.
