the green at the top and red at bottom are homage to the original, which represented the farmlands anf the blood of those lost in its history, while the yellow bar, which used to represent wealth in the old flag, has been removed. in the middle is the junta's emblem, which in the context of the flag is meant to represent Malakia's commitment to the revolutionary movements in the sahel
