Dissatisfied with its defeat during the 25th Yetian Civil War, Chorosian loyalists revolted against their Italian occupiers as the Second Kingdom of Choros was proclaimed, leading to an Italian/Yetian invasion. The Italian protectorate in Yetia also was very unstable as monarchist elements coalesced around a man claiming to be known as "Charles Yetevia-Anssen". The situation in Yetia escalated to the point of conflict as the monarchist Yetian Royal Front, communist Fourth Yetian Red Army, and the liberal Second Yetian Liberation Front rose up throughout the country. Initially these separatist factions had a truce between one another in order to fight their common enemy, soon leading to the complete collapse of the Italian-aligned Yetian government. Without a common enemy, each Yetian faction quickly devolved into infighting as not even movements to reclaim Greater Venice Province from Italy gained enough traction before chaos broke out in the west as the YRF and YRA invaded and crushed the YLF from to angles, eventually leading to the YLF surrendering to the YRF. The YRF proclaimed the restoration of the House of Yetevia-Anssen, selecting a new monarch (ie not Charles) to lead their movement. With the YLF gone, the YRF and YRA began to fight each other, which at least initially was in the YRF's favour as the YRA was split in two. The eastern territories of the YRA quickly began to collapse as the YRF advanced, leading to the State of Albania and State of Serbia asserting sovereignty. Albania was opportunistic and attacked the weakened Choros in order to gain defensible-enough positions to hold out, while Serbia found itself being run over by the quickly advancing YRF. Albania signed an armistice with Choros and effectively withdrew from the conflict as it entered isolation.
The conflict began to spill beyond Yetia as North Sarpistan signed an alliance with the YRA and invaded South Sarpistan, leading to the YRF launching an invasion of South Sarpistan in order to secure territories from falling to its opponent. South Sarpistan aligned itself with Italy, which found itself under attack by the YRF as well, though Italy would soon capitulate as Greater Venice was quickly occupied by the Yetians, leading to Italy conceding the territory in return for peace.
