Once Nihilantis became the sun of the Alpha Sol System, its solar flares quickly ripped apart communications systems across Yata. Kauria was among the worst affected by this as its government fell into disarray thanks to the lack of communications, allowing the underground Yomtachia and Asclan to break onto the surface and begin a takeover. The situation escalated as nationalists occupied the city of Iqaluit, though a stalemate soon set in regardless as power slowly flickered back on.
