Jakanyxians are a sapient amphiboid species native of Vazstix, from which they managed to expand into the surrounding region of space now known as the 'Jakanyx Collective' within the Galactic Confederation. Jakanyxians have a hunched-over posture due to their distended neck which connected to their 'hammer-like' head covered in dense fur, with the rest of their body being fairly spindly. Jakanyxians are herbivorous, having evolved tall bodies to wade through water and consume the dense vegetation on the surface of their jungle-covered homeworld's waters thru mouths found at the sides of their necks, with their face being covered by fur as to avoid damage from their very bright sun.
Jakanyxians are well-known within the galaxy for their steadfast pacifism and unwillingness to engage in non-defensive or internal conflicts, with a notable example being them forming the 'Jakanyx Neutral Administration' during the Federation Civil War, alongside many other cases such as barring 'violent individuals' from many of their planets. This pacifism acts as an extension of a veneration of their homeworld's jungles, likely due to many of the tree-like plants on their planet having somekind of psychic property.
