The Pisungall is an hiveminded amorphoid sapient entity native to the caverns of Pisura that takes the appearance of an animate grayish black ooze capable of movement and changing its form. All known instances of Pisungall share the same 'mind', with no other individuals having ever been documented. The Pisungall is most well known for its takeover of the Blarg Horde by taking advantage of the Pisura27 Sickness Outbreak to propagate itself throughout the infected due to their compatible biologies, before later being expelled into an undocumented region of space upon its defeat.

History

The earliest knowlegde of The Pisungall has been retrieved from the Thronus-Regni Records, which has stated that one of the ancient Galaxies had encountered The Pisungall and banished it into "its home", which has been determined to be a world wide cave network underneath the surface of Pisura.

The Sickness

It is unknown what The Pisungall was doing before the Year 316, but it is known to have been in the caverns for thousands of years. In late 316 the Order of Ganymede launched the Pisura Expedition, in which they conquered the planet during a chaotic stage of the Blarg Civil War in order to gain samples of Blarg DNA for Ganymedian Bioweapons Project #27. Once this was completed, a scientist working on the project was infected and replced by The Pisungall, who tampered with the samples with its own genome and let them loose onto the planet which lead to the planet being overrun with a swarm of infected. The swiftly spread across the entirety of Blarg Space, before being stopped by an ancient superweapon knocking out their ships powergrid.

The infection remained fairly stagnant for a while afterwards until it was discovered that The Pisungall had begun assimilating the infected into itself, this was initially a slow process but it developed a trade method of shipping itself from Pisura to the other worlds. CSIS and The Protoss attempted to stop this by destroying much of Pisura. This slowed down the expansion for a while, but The Pisungall which had accumulated on other Blarg Horde worlds at this point began setting up its own trade method. This ended when The Pisungall assimilated the Compound-Infection filling much of the surface of Blarra Prime. This caused The Pisungall to finally fully assimilate the entire Blarg Horde into itself.

The Pisungall Ascendant

The Blarg Horde became fully assimilated into the consciousness of The Pisungall. It reactivated the Blarg communication systems and began conversing with other states, it can be noted that its speech and messages were heavily incoherent, often omitting words in favor of just saying the words needed to convey what it was saying, this did not always work as regardless it was difficult to understand its ramblings.

The Pisungall shortly afterward completely consumed the Daunelvik species and its nation, assimilating each individual into itself. The Pisungall clarified that it was not interested in destroying humanity yet, as it had another goal. When questioned it just repeated "rokath" all over again, implying that it was after the Rokath Superorganisms. Fearing its continued expansion, a coalition of neighbouring states launched a joint invasion of its holdings in order to eradicate it, which was successful after Thronus-Regni intervened and moved the Pisura system to Unknown Space.

Biography

The Origins of The Pisungall are unknown, with other 'outbreaks' having supposedly happen in the distant past being the only lead suggesting that it is quite old. The Pisungall is a being completely composed out of a grayish black fluid that can move in its own. It is capable of limited shapeshifting, though it is not capable of forming very intricate forms nor change its colour. Its most common transformation is that of a sharp fanged tooth capable of breaching the skin of its "victims", and thru said hole it can "infest" a being.

The Pisungall is known to 'infect' beings via entering the body of a host organism in order to puppeteer them akin to a zombie, usually killing the 'host' during said process. When a being deemed sufficient to act as another host is found, either a degraded pre-existing host or the Pisungall by itself 'explodes' outwards, showering droplets over the new host's body. These droplets move into the host's body and expand by consuming parts of the hosts' interior (the 'lethal' part of the infection process) until the hijacking process is possible. Once infection is complete, the Pisungall is capable of intricately manipulating its hosts' muscles and nerves to a similar capacity as the host could previously for a considerable length of time. Infected individuals can fairly easily be distinguished, with them often having a very vacant expression, stiff movements, being strangely still, having a distorted voice, and having a incoherent speech pattern.

All instances of The Pisungall, regardless of form or distance shared a single mind, it is not a traditional "Hivemind" where a number of constituent minds form one collective intelligence, but instead a single conciousness present in every single instance, controlling all of it at the same time.

Personality

The Pisungall's primary driving force is a sense of self-preservation by asserting control over everything it can via self-propagation, using various manipulative tactics to try to gain new hosts when they become available. Its speech is fairly incoherent, with choppy sentences mainly consisting of the most important words in the conversation and only emphasizing its own name. When it is speaking from the body of a infected being, it always feels too monotone
