Sub-FTL Travel refers to the various methods that spacecrafts travel in speeds below light speed, ranging from more conventional propellants to various more advanced methods.
Alcubierre Warp-Drive
The Alcubierre Warp-Drive works by creating an area of high gravity in front of the craft and an area of high anti-gravity in the rear of the craft. For this purposes fictitious materials are often used. Establishing those two fields, the desired object is then able to "surf" on space itself.
