Bangus is a sarpian cat who was also the president of Bangustan, his own nation located where Kalastria used to be. He is reportedly very powerful despite his small stature and was born in Polsk.

Bangus was a direct creation from Miraak. Miraak created Bangus when he temporarily freed himself from the crystal by transcending time and space, after he found another crystal under Turkestan. He wanted Bangus to guard over Polsk, and his old territory.
