The Neo-Cevikist government which had come into power in Sarpistan following the Apothilene Reunification War began enacting various reforms focused on social issues and reclaiming the Levant, leading to discontent significant enough for an organization by the name of the 'Arab Ba'ath Brotherhood' to take advantage of the controversy to launch a revolt in the Sarpistani capital of Baghdad, swiftly seizing the city. While the ABB saw significant initial success advancing all the way to the Black sea, upon reorganizing the Neo-Cevikists managed to push them back to Baghdad before a variety of separatist revolts took hold throughout the nation, which Choros exploited to occupy the Aegean islands.
