The Qu are an insectoid[1] species native to Puwon-2 in the Triangulum Galaxy. They are well-known for advancing to the point of extragalactic travel billions of years ago, becoming a race of intergalactic nomads partaking in epoch-spanning migrations from galaxy to galaxy. The Qu are the dominant species of The Quhanim[2], a egotheocratic intergalactic empire divided into various local galactic cells. This decentralized empire is used to push towards The Qu's goal of universal purity, as has been dictated by their fundamentalist religious beliefs. Despite their religious nature, they have achieved immense technology which has not been matched by any known civilisation.
Contrasting greatly to their spacefaring brethren, a quickly growing population of Qu known as the 'Uhateni Qu' have emerged on the planet Skantos found in the Milky Way Galaxy after having been stranded there in 264 CE. After the gradual deaths of those that had been initially stranded there, this group has greatly diverged ideologically from their compatriots and adopted a much more openminded and accepting view of the universe, leading to the establishment of the 'Uhaten' as their governing body, following a system that embodies a synthesis of spiritualistic and technocratic beliefs.
Biology
Their initial life cycle involves an aquatic larval stage, then later growing into a terrestrial form which they retain for the rest of their lives. Due to countless self-performed genetic improvements over their existence, each of their biological processes has been perfected to the point they rarely if ever die of natural causes[3].
Appearance
They have four wings, two eye stalks on the sides of their head, two long mandibles on their mouth and a prehensile tail used for grabbing and interacting with their surroundings. Their known form is not their "natural appearance", but rather, the result of self-performed genetic alterations of their species at some point in the past in a quest towards genetic perfection.
