Alpha Sol[1] is a yellow dwarf star located at the centre of the Alpha Sol System. It formed approximately 4.6 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of matter within a region of a large molecular cloud. It is the largest star within the Sol System, which is the larger Trinary Star System that Alpha Sol is located within.
