The Carotenes (tn: Exovir Ignota Carotenoida), also known as Cotunauinian Iujado, and archaically known as Regenerato, are an Iujado subspecies native to the nation of Cotunauinia on the planet Yata. Similar in build to average humans and Iujado, Carotenes have fiery orange complexions produced by the pigment carotene. This does not carry the same flammability as anthocyanin, the pigment in Iujado skin. Carotenes are a synthetic species - having been created from scrambled Iujado DNA.
