The Post-Sollurians are a family of related (typically) sapient/sentient species that descended from the Sollurians, an extinct species native to the planet Sollus which went on to form the interstellar 'Sollurian Empire' spanning across a significant portion of the galaxy that lasted from 19,345,030 BCE to 457,607 BCE, with a series of crises and gradual decline leading to the collapse of the empire which left behind countless smaller groups of Sollurians on now disconnected worlds for the first time in millions of years, forcing them to make their way back to the stars nearly from the ground-up once more as they diverged into distinct species due to the differing habitats of whichever planet they ended up living on after the collapse. The final collapse of the Sollurian Empire was chaotic enough to largely strip them of spacefaring capabilities and several of their more advanced technologies which lead to many of the Sollurian planets either fully evacuating their population to those which were left in a better condition, or died off completely, though out of the survivors most proximate populations which were still genetically related enough to produce offspring tended to interbreed once regaining spacefaring capabilities regardless which lead to their populations largely coalescing into a smaller number of species than had initially survived their Empire's collapse.
Physically, Post-Sollurians share many similarities between one another, with the most visible being their classification as 'Humanoids', which means that they have a body layout similar to humans in the form of a torso, two arms on their sides, two legs below, and a head atop the torso (which contains several sensory organs allowing for sight, taste, smell, and hearing as well as hair growing from the scalp). They often have large dark-coloured eyes, thin torsos and limbs (with some notable exceptions), differently-coloured (typically yellowish) facial/bodily markings composed of hardened skin, indistinct noses, red-purple-blue skin-tones, and having only one biological sex capable of reproduction (similar to simultaneous hermaphroditism seen in certain Yatan lifeforms though they only produce one universally-compatible gamete rather than producing two) with any other individual within their own species. Beyond their similarities, Post-Sollurians often differ in many genetic factors which makes them distinct species from one another incapable of hybridizing. Post-Sollurians can be divided into three major families, the Outer Post-Sollurians, the Inner-Post Sollurians, and the Empyrianan Post-Sollurians, with the 'Outer' group encompassing the Nairilluans and Syllians of the Gamma Quadrant, the 'Empyrianan' group encompassing the Empyreans and their subspecies which inhabit the Empyrium, and the 'Inner Group' encompassing the 'Core Subfamily' consisting of the Echetchens, Khejvans, Khervi, and Zolians of the Galactic Federation alongside the 'Twelve-Suns Subfamily' encompassing the 12 species of the Empire of the Twelve Suns.
