Amesidian is a Kaphisian scientist who is the director of the Flavros Project, and the former First Scientist of the Kaphi realm before its disintegration. Amesidian is one of the pre-eminents of Kaphi society, as is their protégé Carbonado.
Heavily obsessed with the ideas of fate and prophecy, Amesidian brought word of a prophecy known as the Loom of Fate to the Kaphi'si, revealing to them that one day the commanders of the heavens would fall down to Theia, returning the powers of fate and destiny to the people. As commanded by Black Opal, Amesidian studied at the Sothro Institute to gain a deeper insight on the prophecy, but soon grew to resent it. In response to this, and to a failed attempt by Carbonado to establish suzerainty over the universe, Amesidian oversaw the Flavros Project - her plan to "usurp fate" through a destructive superweapon.
