The Dimogos[1] system is a star system located in the northwest of the Empyrium. It contains three inhabited worlds, one of which is Suwnata - a free moon planet that orbits the desolate, uninhabited planet Sanasiu. Although Suwnata is a Yatalike world, Sanasiu is of incredible importance to the Empyrium as a source of elemental mercury, which has wide applications in Empyrean technological industries. Given Sanasiu’s highly toxic atmosphere, permanent settlements there are unviable and often corrode quickly - Suwnata is essentially the base camp / staging point for short-term expeditions to Sanasiu.
Dimogos is an Imperial system containing three free worlds (including Suwnata) that have complete autonomy over their surfaces and skies, but their jurisdiction does not extend into space. Interestingly, the Imperial Authority has no power for direct intervention in the Dimogos system - instead, their authority is outsourced to the Dimogos Corporation, an Authority subsidiary that holds the exclusive rights to manage Sanasiu, and the space contained within the system. In the past, the corporation has been criticised for nepotism, protectionism and corruption, having used their power to blockade the system to put pressure on cinnabar-importing free worlds to accept demands. There have also been allegations of forced disappearanes on Suwnata, despite their free world status, and even assassinations on Alkid.
