Lesathanians are a sapient amorphoid and semi-artificial species native to the planet Lesath found in the Inner Core's Beta Quadrant in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Lesathanians are composed of a hard yet flexible metalorganic compound that acts much like an exoskeleton, although they do also have an internal skeletal structure keeping their various limbs in place. They have 8 limbs, of which 6 are located at the bottom of their abdomen with spiked ends intended to piece into their homeworld's mountainous and windy terrain to keep them from falling, while the other two limbs are positioned much higher up and are used for manipulating nearby objects with three equally spread out appendages at the tips that act like fingers. Their central torso is largely arrow-shaped, covered with numerous eyes (which give them a 360 degree view of their surroundings), and contains most of their vital organs which are largely composed of purely carbon compounds unlike the rest of their body. Situated a little over the middle of their torso is a cylindrical head home to sensory antennae, three eyes, and a set of vestigial mandibles. Despite their heads having the structure for a mouth, Lesathanians in their past had one both on their head and between their six lower limbs (with waste expelled through a hole in their back), though since then the opening on their head has stopped being functional and remains as a mere hole. Aside from their purely biological adaptions, Lesathanians are notable for their heavy use of cybernetic and biological augmentations in their forms, allowing them to vary greatly in form to the point of being completeely unrecognizable from their traditional form, making them semi-artificial in nature.
Most Lesathanians inhabit the Terzan-2 Coalition, within which they are the most populous of its many constituent species. Within the coalition itself, a majority of Lesathanians reside within the member-society of 'Lesathani', though inter-coalition migration is quite commonplace in peacetimes. Much like the rest of the Coalition, a vast majority of Lesathanians adhere to the Hyacinthan Faith and its rituals, though due to them only consisting of 25% fluids and having a hard epidermis they experience significant difficulties in preforming the faith's bloodletting rituals.
