New Abard is the capital and most populous city in the Republic of Abard within the Confederation of Yata located near the Okavango Delta and Zambezi River. The "old town" of the city is built into a series of flat pits roughly 20 meters below sea level, while the rest of the city - including its more modern sections are located in the surrounding savannas. New Abard was constructed after Cape Town was abandoned due to the Plague, serving as a planned Capital to serve as the new centre for Abardean society to work towards revenge against Sizzle whom they blamed for killing the people of Cape Town, seeing them as responsible for the plague. Partially thanks to being founded 'for revenge', New Abard holds a dark legacy of being heavily involved in the practice of Slavery for much of its history until Iain Singleir banned Slavery in Abard. Due to it being quite far inland New Abard exerts little influence in places outside of Abard, with only occasional international conferences being held there.
