Primio[1] is the only moon of the gas giant Escorvax - the only planet in the Primio system - and a regional capital world within the Empyrium. Along with it's planet, it orbits the Pearl Star, an anomalous low-luminosity star that shines pink - much akin to the sheen of a pearl (to which it owes its name.) As a result, the otherwise icy blue planet is bathed in a very dim, reddish light, leading to many to call it the "Shadow Planet." It is the only terrestrial body in the system.
Primio is the only integrated member system within Universal Space, a former autonomous subunit of Lesser Empyrium that was separated when Lesser Empyrium's hegemony drew to a close. Until a few centuries ago, Primio was the symbolic capital of the Empyrium because it hosted the Imperial Conference, that was until hosting the conference became open to the highest bidder, and San otherwise became the dominant cultural centre. Since then, Primio has seen significant depopulation - its 31 million inhabitants makes the system the least populated integrated member of the Empyrium. However, since it is a free system, it is still remarkably wealthy - the moon is a well-known destination for its high culture, quiet lifestyle, and for unique views of the Pearl Star.
It has been long argued whether Primio's position within a "Universal Space" is tenable nowadays, since it has little function in that regard. The nature of the Universal Space is a contentious topic - it is unknown why it was established as a subunit of the Lesser Empyrium and why it persists as a region in its own right. Furthermore, in a region densely populated with main-sequence stars, its only integrated member system's only populated place is a moon that is, in itself, on the borderlines of what is considered inhabitable. This has given rise to myriad conspiracy theories, and some regard "the Primio conundrum" as a well-known aspect of the collective Empyrean folk legend
A voidspace lane between Primio and an unknown planet called Thrallix is a well-established legend on the planet.
