Void Energy is an efficient and powerful energy source present across the universe, generally sourced from converting accumulations of Void Matter (though Void Energy may also be compressed back into Void Matter) deep within a planet or other massive objects into a energetic form. Void Energy is very unstable, in both conventional and unconventional ways as it has been documented changing chemical composition, becoming antimatter, or translocating entirely.
Void Matter is a naturally occurring unstable 'substance' that can form in high-pressure, high-temperature radioactive decay, conditions that could only be found in a massive object's[1] core. Due to its slow formation it can easily be over-exploited due to its utility in various commonly used practices such as FTL Travel. Void Energy/Matter can also be sourced from extracting it through specialized gateway-like structures that tap into it from Voidspace[2], an unusual 'foam' situated within a realm between realms.
