An alarming trend began being reported as an individual known simply as 'The Uniter' had been travelling between known Crimson Cults with the goal of unifying all of them under one banner in order to achieve his goals, prompting the SDS Foundation to launch an investigation in order to hunbt down all cults they could before they aligned with the Uniter, with all governments that had information being asked to provide it. Polsk decided to take action first by deploying its Central Intelligence Agency to infiltrate the cult, only for the SDS to notify them that there wasn't a single centralized religious group as instead they were moreso a collection of hundreds of smaller similar groups, with this 'Uniter' being a threat specifically because they could unify them. Polsk reiterated its intentions to infiltrate and kill them as it feared they would resurrect Miraak, which the SDS explained that they wouldn't as they held no reverence for him and that this wasnt' a 'termination' mission unless if absolutely necessary as they instead favoured detainment, opting to instead explain their belief structure in order to improve the intel it could gain from the governments after making sure the classified information it would give wasn't going to be spread around. The SDS explained that they seemed to primarily worship a god called Jymytošty, but also revered various 'flesh-based' entities as idols like the Mystery Flesh Pit and now-deceased Biomass Crimson, with some individual cults (with the two largest cults being one in New South City and one in Uusi Saimaa, with other major concentrations being northern Catania and the southern Urals) also worshipping other deities though despite these variances most followed the doctrine posited in a holy book known as the 'Crimson Grimoire'.
Eventually, the SDS Foundation found a lead as it inquired regarding what Polsk knew about Bongus Bingus, former dictator of Bongustan until its dissolution, with Polsk revealing that it had contact with Bongus, that they had a 'cool space program' and that Polsk had both assisted and invaded them in the past. The SDS revealed that Bongus had committed a Crimsonist ritual fairly publicly in 229 CE, and was thus a high-ranking figure within the Crimsonist circle that was to be captured and taken in for questioning as SDS Intelligence had tracked his exact location to Orieneido, Shogunate of Oriento where he served as a local governor and militia leader. Polsk celebrated that it had an excuse to destroy Oriento, prompting the SDS to clarify that it couldn't care less about toppling governments or participating in geopolitics as the entire point of this mission was to just capture Bongus. The SDS notified Oriento of its impending covert military operation into the Bingus Peninsula with 'mandatory' compliance, which Oriento begrudgingly agreed to. Thus, Mobile Assault Squadrons Psi-13 and Xi-8 were disguised as Binguses were dispatched into the Orieneido-Sufinkusu Prefecture as communications were jammed and Polsk sent a battlecruiser above the region to land special forces to help the SDS. Eventually, Bongus and the Orieneido City Government regained contact with the outside woorld and were notified that they were being detained over their Crimsonist affiliation, prompting Bongus to claim that he would need to call for backup and was fortifying with his militia to hold off the SDS paramilitaries. Unfortunately, the 'backup' was unable to arrive in time and Bongus' attempts to swim away led to him being captured by a SDS blockade, allowing the MAS to withdraw as Bongus was taken in for questioning as the SDS promised to deliver 'some details' once it had analysed everything.
Polsk and Osania asked for the details regarding the investigation soon afterwards, which prompted the SDS to respond that the information was still under review regarding what could be revealed. Polsk insisted that the SDS must give the information as they had dealt with cults before and the SDS claims of this being an ongoing threat were insufficient explanations as the SDS had not done anything about Miraak and his spacefleet. The SDS explained that this was a current threat to prevent an already dangerous group (with several significant anomalies having been traced to them in Lake Baikal and Asolab) from becoming even more dangerous group as if unified they could be capable of causing issues on a worldwide scale, thus everything they were doing (including classifying information) was simply to avoid the risk of said eventuality. Polsk acknowledged this before going behind the SDS' back and asked the nations of Yata and Theia if they believed the SDS were 'lying cheating scumbags', which many did, so Polsk proposed that everyone launch a massive revolt, which the Theian Republic opposed despite Polsk's claims that 'they cant possible kill all 9 billion of us' as they believed that surely there was a reason behind all of their secrecy as they had illuded that they were containing hundreds of supernatural threats in order to prevent them from damaging the world, which Polsk didn't agree with. Osania noted that if Polsk wanted to go against the SDS a more secure communications channel was likely needed, so Polsk activated the 'Theia Shield' to block SDS communications and switched to encrypted communications as Polsk proposed that they create a new rival to the SDS as the Theian Paranormal Unit (the League of Theia's anomalous organization) was seemingly quite incompetent and too cooperative with the SDS, but Osania proposed that at first they should probably cooperate with a pre-existing group due to their inexperience, compiling a dossier[1] that described the goals, activities, and alignments of Anodyne, Aurum Dining, the Checkmate Association, the Children of Apollyon, the Church of Gor, the Church of the Red Leader, Club de l'Insolite, the Crimson Cults, Emiro Phantom, the Gensokyo-Iujadogia-Osania, Iolava Robotics, the Legion of Chaos, the Library of Eden, Miller, Patel and Lau Ltd, the Nislandian Range Security Department, Opel Interactive, the Paranormal Investigation Directorate, the SDS Foundation, TERAPRO, the International Avant-Garde, the Theian Paranormal Unit, the University of Equilibrium, the United Nations Anti-Anomaly Agency, the Ascendancy of the Nornir, the Holy Order of Christ, the Scientific Church of Satan, the Illuminati, the Æsir Allegiance, the Unified Academy of Thaumatology, and the International Parahealth Institute, with Polsk showing interest in recruiting Anodyne (which Osania recommended against due to being a pharmaceutical/industrial company), the UNAAA, and GIORC. Out of the previous list, Osania recommended the UNAAA, Library of Eden, the Legion of Chaos, and MP&L as the 4 most capable allies, though Polsk and Osania both agreed that the LoC wasn't a viable ally. After some discussions, Osania and Polsk decided upon contacting the UNAAA as the best ally, opening a communication channel with their headquarters in Mylonagrad as they explained that they weren't satisfied with the 'SDS' services' and were inquiring if the UNAAA could provide 'better services' as the SDS was withholding information about groups that could threaten their nations. UNAAA noted that the SDS kept secrets from everyone, but Polsk claimed this didn't matter as now it directly affected them. The UNAAA and Polsk agreed that terminating anomalies rather than allowing them to live and become threats again. While the UNAAA claimed to be unaffiliated when it came to the SDS, they were confused on why the Crimsonists were suddenly the 'big threat', only for Polsk to use this as a reason why cooperation was a good idea as they didn't know why they were a threat either as the SDS was refusing to tell them beyond the basic fact that they were one. Polsk recounted the events of the SDS-015 Containment Breach, where the SDS had nuked its territory in order to 'preserve the entity' (in Polsk's eyes) instead of letting Polsk kill it, which the UNAAA wasn't aware of but took Polsk's word for it, noting how they had probably used Amnestics (memory-altering drugs) to cover-up the incident by making people believe their loved ones died of natural causes. Polsk proposed exposing the SDS Foundation to the public, which the UNAAA opposoed as it would also expose them to the public and both them and the SDS had a 'Veil Doctrine' designed to keep the 'normal world' and 'anomalous world' separate from one another, as well as Polsk only really knowing the surface level details about the SDS making them claiming that a 'secret organization stealing monsters and wiping memories' wouldn't be very believable. Polsk decided to follow this advice and began looking for more details, uncovering the locations of sites/areas/outposts 1, 2, 4, 31, 54, OB-019, and O-002. Polsk promptly invaded Site-2 by drilling into it, only to find out that it had been abandoned for over a century and a half. Polsk looked for files and remaining computers, though most were stripped long ago which only left them, with the most 'functional' computation device being a semi-functional analogue computer which can only view select documents before crashing, with the main issue being that it couldn't be repaired despite being able to restart. After Polsk spent some time trying to operate the clearly broken computer terminal, it dug in and prepared for the SDS to come and kick them out, as it could only access limited numbers of files such as SDS-1875 and SDS-024.
