Sarpian Cats (Felis Sapiens) are a species of intelligent mammals resembling domestic cats (though many subspecies resemble various species of Felinae) belonging to the genus Felis which were synthetically created in 104 CE after the Second Sarpistani Civil War via Regeneration Lasers used by the Realm of Westov and Realm of Triton which transformed the entire population of North Sarpistan into intelligent cats, though due to their destructive behaviours most Sarpian Cats were reverted to their previous Human forms, though some had left their nation's borders and managed to survive (with successive generations becoming simply 'sapient cats' rather than 'humans transformed into cats', though those which were only partially transformed into cats retained more Human characteristics and thus became distinct), eventually relocating to the eastern Himalayas where they established 'Neo-Sarpia'. The Sarpian Cats resided mainly in this area until the ~150s, which saw the beginning of a major migration to Theia, where 95% of the extant population currently lives, primarily residing within the in nations of Essoritalia, Eyyants, Foriunla, Könbatyşçir, Susçir-Avestierra, and Yanz.

Sarpian Cats are fairly diverse due to adapting to a variety of different climates, with a number of 'subspecies' coexisting with noticeable visual differences, though they are still genetically similar enough to be considered one species capable of reproducing amongst one another; Felis Sapiens Glaberderm are a hairless sub-species which mainly inhabit Eyyants, Felis Sapients Otocolobusodes are a sub-species which share visual similarities with Manuls that mainly inhabit parts of Sakalyariya, Felis Sapiens Lynxoides are a sub-species which share visual similarities with Lynxes which inhabit some areas of Greater Orientalis in small numbers, Felis Sapiens Caracaloides are a sub-species which share visual similarities with Caracals that mainly inhabit Essoritalia and Yanz, Felis Sapiens Otochyodes are a sub-species with some 'fox-like' traits which inhabit Foriunla, and Felis Sapiens Leptailuroides are a sub-species which share visual similarities with Servals that mainly inhabit Könbatyşçir and Susçir-Avestierra. Alongside the 6 aforementionedsub-species, Felis Sapiens Sapiens are the nominate subspecies which mainly resemble Felis Catus, making up a majority of the total Sarpian Cat population, residing in nearly all areas where the species resides.

Sarpian Cats, regardless of sub-species, are roughly the same size at 97-120 Centimetres long and 25-40 Centimetres tall, making them similar in size to Maine Coons. All Sarpian Cats possess significant intelligence on par with Humans and other similarly intelligent species, though various 'cat-like' behaviours are still common usually for self-regulation. Aside from their size, Sarpian Cats also differ from other felines by their opposable thumbs and longer digits which allow them to manipulate tools and objects, developed vocal chords which allow them to converse in Human languages (although with a noticeable 'sarpian accent'), and being facultative quadrupeds (meaning that while they naturally move on four legs, they are still able to walk and 'stand' on two) rather than being exclusively quadrupedal.

Culturally, Sarpian Cats derive most of their cultural values from the groups of Humans they were first exposed to, with Arabic being the most common language spoken and Islam being the most common religion practiced. Other major languages spoken by Sarpians include Italian, Russian, and Tatar, and other common religions include Eastern Orthodoxy. Sarpians are often prone to highly ideological behaviours, with nationalist, conservative, and socialist ideologies being much more common and often more radical than among Human populations with similar living conditions.
