The health of Sarpistan's Supreme Leader Abul Pianga began to rapidly deteriorate, culminating in him dying from a stroke. Abul's death left Sarpistan in a power vacuum as the military, loyalists under Safir Pianga, democracy advocates, and those wishing to restore the monarchy all disagreed on who would be Abul's successor, leading to Sarpistan descending into a 4-sided civil war regarding who would rule it. While the Military State of Sarpistan did have the best position as it held the capital of Baghdad and the surrounding region, it was surrounded by enemies on all sides as even when it defeated the monarchist 'Restoration Front' based in Doha, repeated attacks from the People's Republic of Sarpistan based in Sevnavang allowed the Sarpistani Democrat Army based in Amman to break through and capture Baghdad, causing the Military to capitulate. Both the Loyalists and Democrats were incapable of defeating one another, leading to them agreeing upon a peace treaty which divided Sarpistan into the democratic 'Republic of South Sarpistan' and dictatorial 'People's Republic of North Sarpistan'.
North and South Sarpistan both became fierce enemies, spreading this tension into each other's foreign policy as both threatened to join either the New Axis Powers or New Allied League depending on which one of them was allowed into the other. Parades were organized in the north as Abul's body was embalmed and put on display, leading to great sympathy from Hongerswak ruled by Abul's other son Heydar Pianga, allowing the North to somewhat rebound thanks to foreign aid. North Sarpistan claimed it needed to make new concentration camps, which prompted Westov to question their activities, which made Hongerswak remark that Westov sucked. Westov decided that this was a bad mindset and fired the Regenerator Array onto Hongerswak, temporarily reforming them into the Realm of Kulishwaucebile under Heydan Pianga. North Sarpistan was the next to be targeted by the array, only for the Realm of Triton to reveal that they tampered with the Regenerator array in order to assure that North Sarpistan would remain docile, augmenting their genetic code to turn them into sapient cats, which were promptly named 'Sarpian Cats' after the new 'Realm of Sarpia'. This lead to rampant consequences to local wildlife, as the 'Sarpians' managed to hunt down significant portions of the region's mouse and bird populations to the detriment of the ecosystem, which was foollowed by them urinating everywhere which was equally as damaging. In order to pacify Sarpia, Westov had to intently provide them with adequate nutrition and infrastructure in order to keep them content, or else they would keep threatening to go feral and rampage nearby countries, prompting Westov to drug them with catnip to keep them passive longer. The continued annoyance caused by Sarpia lead to Westov firing the lazer on them again, restoring North Sarpistan with somewhat more intelligence so that it would at least be toolerable to deal with.
