Islandia began suffering from issues of its government becoming increasingly unpopular, with many among its populace opposing its more hardline tendencies in favour of a more democratic system. This dissatisfaction would soon escalate as a largescale rebel group calling itself 'Free Islandia' emerged, quickly arming itself with the aims of overthrowing the government to improve Islandia's standard of living, soon gaining support from Sipedro to achieve this mission.
The uprising would thus commence, with Rapa Nui City quickly being besieged by the rebels and their Sipedroan allies, promptly being attacked by the Government, whom started using chemical weapons against the rebellion. Sipedro was outraged due to the mass civilian casualties caused by the gas and napalm bombings, prompting Sipedroan fighters to arrive to shoot down the government aircraft involved in these attacks. New Caledonia and Rapa Nui would soon fall to the rebels, leaving only Fiji as a major government outpost, with the Free Islandian and Sipedroan forces secretly infiltrating it by posing as fishermen, with this invasion only escalating the government's attacks as largescale firebombing campaigns were started. Fiji would soon fall, allowing Free Islandia to establish the Islandian Confederation as a constitutional monarchy under King Hotu Matuꞌa presiding over a parliamentary democracy aligning itself with the Anti Sizzle-Yetia Coalition.
