A series of major human-rights abuses and deaths occurred in Lineland, with the government explaining to the outraged international community that the deaths were caused by accidental leaking of radioactive materials from their newly built powerplants, which was leaked despite Lineland's attempts to cover it up by closing their borders. Sipedro was greatly angered by this, demanding that Lineland treat their citizens fairly, which the populace seemed to agree with as they formed the 'Free Lineland Movement' to fight back, soon being joined by Sipedro as they moved to overthrow the authoritarian government.

The uprising quickly spread throughout Lineland's mainland in Siberia and its overseas territories, with many major cities quickly falling especially once Sipedro involved itself by landing armies into the city of Vanino, with this invasion soon receiving material support from Yetia. The Linelandic government threatened to use its in-development nuclear weapons, only for these to be disabled by the FLM, forcing the government to surrender to the uprising. The FLM would promptly replace the incumbent government of Lineland, installing King William III Linasburg as their new ruler.
