After years of 'incidents' occurring, the people of Nakmai grew suspicious that their leader Bei Pham was gay, as they questioned his several visits to Yamalia. They then found 'intimate' letters sent between Bei Pham and Yamalian leader Sportavny Sidorov, which Bei attempted to deflect by claiming they were jokes, which quickly fell apart as a sex tape was leaked. Nakmaians and Yamalians grew angry as homosexuality was criminalized in both countries, leading to riots breaking out as Bei's second house in Phnom Penh was broken into. Both countries' deeply homophobic publics had enough of their leaders, leading to the Anti-Gay Nakmai Gang and Yamalian Liberation Army rising up in rebellion against their rulers in order to bring them back down the path of conservative socialism. Luvakhia, which was also run by deeply conservative socialists began funding the Homophobes while Poavak was sympathetic to the Governments. Bei and Sportavny fled into exile in Taiwan while fighting rocked their countries, from there they went to the Islandian Islands in Luxuria. The Government forces, joined by militias of Gay citizens, found themselves outnumbered by the Homophobes as even when they began pushing back more Homophobic revolts in cities like Salekhard lead to their frontlines collapsing. Luvakhian aid proved to be vital as they provided planes, tanks, and ammunition which was much more capable than what the Government and Militias had to offer. Gay people in Nakmai and Yamalia fled their countries into Lineland and Utsong as both countries full fell to the insurrections, which assumed control of the governments of each nation while maintaining their communistic political models.
After the war, Nakmai and Yamalia elected a female and male president each to avoid this incident happening again, with Chau Binh now ruling Nakmai and Adrik Petroshki ruling Yamalia. Both countries fully criminalized homosexuality, and all citizens were advised to report 'sightings' to the police.
