A largescale uprising began in Fujian and Taiwan, putting regions of Great Sizzle into turmoil as the two regions began trying to break way from Great Sizzle. After a fairly brief fight, the Separatists managed to successfully break away from Sizzlean rule. Yanhei adopted more of a socialistic model while Taiwan fell under the authoritarian rule of Tsai Qin.

The two new states and their neighbour of Shenguo bonded over their shared history of resisting their larger neighbours to the north, leading to them together forming the 'Pearl Alliance' as a front to protect true Sinitic culture. The 3 began working towards a plan to liberate more of their brethren from Great Sizzle, preparing to make use of their powerful navies and connections to countries such as Luvuria and Islandia. Nihilantis and its proxies saw potential in this alliance against the major power of Sizzle.
