The Scramble for Oceania was a major diplomatic dispute between the Islandian Confederation and New Luxurian Empire in 90 CE over which one of them should claim which unorganized islands in the pacific, with Islandia swiftly seizing the Bismarck Archipelago and New Caledonia while Luxuria seized Vanuatu, which it incorporated as the 'Islandian Islands' State. The disputes came to an end once both parties attempted to establish their respective rules over Norfolk, leading to a standoff which was interrupted by Catania attempting to claim the island during the chaos, which the two collaborated to prevent. Having reached a peaceful settlement, Islandia and Luxuria decided to end their conflict by agreeing to cease hostilities and to split Norfolk into the Islandian 'To Tatou Motu' and the Luxurian 'Canaroo', with both sides becoming major tourist attractions.
