Miraak's Crystal
Chapter 1
February 27th, 263, Yatan Time.
A random dive bar in center city.
A man walks into the bar, the bar is bustling with activity, a few billiard games going around, waitresses walking around with drinks, and a thick smokey haze is in the air that smells like various things, tobacco and marijuana being the most prevalent.
the man steps through the door, he fixes his Khaki trench coat, and scans the room.
He sees a lone man at the back of the restaurant, sitting in a round booth sunken into the wall.
He walks forward, towards the booth with a brisk pace.
As he approaches, the lone man looks at him.
"May I sit?" Says the man in the trench coat.
"Sure thing."
"Nice coat, Aleksander Dyzek."
"Thank you."
Aleksander leans in, and looks around to make sure no one is in earshot
"I've found it."
"The Terazene Crystal."
"The one that gave Miraak his power?" says the other man.
"Yes, Jan, I've found it."
"Where is it?"
"I'll tell you, but I'd rather in private."
Both Aleks and Jan survey the room
"Seems good enough."
"It's in the Catacombs beneath Anor Londo."
"On Skantos."
"Jesus..."
"We barely have ships that go out that far."
"I know" Says Dyzek
"But the Terazene, it could power Polsk's fleets, against the Qu."
"That Terazene is going to be highly sought after Alex." says Jan
"You better be careful."
"I will."
"But Jan, I need a way off world."
"No civilian cruise liners go out to Skantos."
"I know you have a shi-"
"Oh no no no, you aren't dragging me out that far."
A waitress walks up.
"Hello gentlemen, my name is Julia, can I get you some drinks?"
"Yes please, bring me Gimlin Stout?" Says Jan
She looks at Aleksander.
"I'll have a water please."
The waiter walks away, and Aleksander tracks her behind as she leaves.
He looks at Jan again.
"Like I was saying" begins Jan
"You ain't dragging me to Skantos."
"Place is cursed, I tell you."
"I'm telling you, Jan, this is the biggest discovery yet!"
"If we find it, we could be rich!"
Jan pauses, looks down at the table in thought.
His eyes dart up to meet Aleksander's.
"How rich?"
"Richer than whoever made Coaxium."
"I'll think about it." says Jan
"Well think quickly, we ain't got much time before this gets out."
Chapter 2
Meanwhile, at the Polsk spaceport, in orbit above Theia.
Aleksander Dyzek and Jan Wakovski walk down a hallway to Jan's ship.
they approach a heavy blast door, which opens revealing a bustling hanger bay.
A Wipeout Class gunship is parked in the hanger, next to several other civilian private ships.
"Well this is it " Says Jan
"My ship, the Silver Hawk."
"Wow, I'm surprised." says Aleksander
"A Wipeout Class Gunship."
"It'll get us where we are going." says Jan
They both walk up a boarding ramp leading into the side of the ship.
The ramp closes behind them.
They walk up a ladder to their left leading to the cockpit.
Jan gets in the pilots seat, Aleks gets into a co-pilots seat.
Jan turns the ship on, the engines roar to life.
Jan then presses a button, requesting permission to leave.
A series of beeps Is heard, meaning that the ship is cleared to take off and leave.
"We are under way."
Jan throttles up, while grasping the singular Joystick between his legs.
The ship slowly lifts up, and Jan turns it around to face the exit to the hangar.
He raises his hand and looks up and flicks some switches above him, firing up the main engines, and the ship start to move forward.
Once the ship gains the velocity, he switches the VTOL thrusters off, and the ship speeds up.
They blow past the shield keeping the air in the hangar, and Through the inside of the main ship holding space inside the station .
They fly past a damaged constitution class Cruiser returning to port.
They fly out the space doors leading to space.
"We are clear of Spacedock." says Jan
"Charting course to Skantos."
He punches their destination into the Navicomputer.
The Navicomputer makes course calculation.
A beep and a low hum can be heard as the ship's FTL-drive powers up.
"Alright.. Course plotted."
"Let's go." says Aleks
Jan throttles back, powering down the main engine, and the warp drive takes over.
The ship comes to a complete stop.
"Punch it." says Aleks
Jan takes hold of the warp throttle and throws it forward.
The ship shoots off into warp speed, pushing Aleksander and Jan into their seats.
The ships stabilizers and gravity systems kick in, minimizing the G forces.
"Alright." Says Jan
"It's going to be a 17 hour flight."
17 hours later.
Jan is still sitting in the Pilots seat.
Aleksander is in the back, eating.
The ship enters the Skantoan Atmosphere.
"Coming up on Anor Londo"
The ship flies forward over the ocean, until a huge castle comes into view.
Jan flies around it looking for a good landing zone.
There is a pad at the front.
Jan sets the ship down on the landing pad.
They both exit the ship.
Chapter 3
Jan and Alex walk out of the ship.
They are both holding Kz.56 assault carbines.
They approach the stairs to Anor Londo.
The castle is falling apart.
They both walk up the stairs, the same stairs that the 9 walked up on.
Jan and Alex keep their rifles at ready low.
They come up to the top of the stairs.
The main gate I blown open, char marks, bullet holes, and skeletons are everywhere.
The duo walk through the door, scanning above them .
"Holy hell..." Says Jan
"Place is fucking graveyard." says Jan
They walk up to a circle in the floor.
They circle rises, it's an elevator.
It goes up to a high floor.
It's a garden.
Then, suddenly, the crystal appears, sending a shockwave of light.
Jan touches it.
"AAAAUUUUUURRRGH!!!"
"MAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"
He sees Miraak.
He sees everything.
Miraak says "You have disturbed my peace..."
"Who are you??"
"Wait..."
"You're alive?"
"Yes."
"My power is within this crystal."
"Oh.."
"We... Need the crystal."
"There is an alien race..."
"They are going to kill us all."
"We need the crystal."
"I see..." says Miraak
"Use the crystal then."
"I will power my ship."
"Humanity shall prevail."
