Floppa Civil War
Big Floppa, now aged 73, released his autobiography 'Marshal Big Floppa - Then to Now' out of concerns that his remaining life was quite limited. Polsk thus invited him to go on tour in New Warsaw, which he accepted despite not being able to actually preform his songs such as 'Flop Fo No Hoe' (Released when he was 41) like he used to, though he was still able to sing them. The concert he held in New Warsaw was quite unimpressive but he did his best in his old age. A group of suspicious people entered the concert whom were trailed by Polskan Intelligence as they seemingly shuffled for some kind of weapon, only for a unrelated individual 30 seats away to pull out a gun and lethally shoot Big Floppa, with said shooter being identified as 'Dobieslaw Symanski' with the motive of revenge against the Floppapolsk Republic (as he saw Big Floppa as a tyrant like them) after he was shot by security guards after the assassination.
Having been left leaderless, the Floppa Socialist Ba'ath Party formed the Floppascus Emergency People's Assembly Committee to govern the UFR while they were leaderless. Chegg Karakal, Big Floppa's son, took up the mantle as leader of the reformist 'Floppa Democratic People's Party' which promoted democratisation. Justin Karakal, Big Floppa's (adopted) brother, took up the mantle as leader of the 'Floppa Socialist Ba'ath Party', dedicating himself to upholding his late brother's legacy despite ideologically moving the party considerably further left. The generals which opposed Big Floppa during the Second Swagonian War formed the 'Committee of National Liberation', a faction ruled by said generals dedicated to restabilising the UFR in the current power vacuum. FEPAC kept trying to hold the nation together as it promised elections for the future leader to be chosen, though this didn't stop violent mobs of each faction's supporters from rioting in the streets despite Polsk's peacekeeping efforts. In the leadership elections, Chegg's reformists won out and were proclaimed the next leaders of the UFR, angering the CNL as they opposed liberal leadership which the FSBP agreed with to the point of breaking away as well, leading to the 'Committee of National Liberation' and 'Ba'athist Restoration Front' rising up in rebellion, prompting FEPAC to seize power to prevent the crisis which caused Chegg's 'Democratic Floppa Congress' to rise up. It appeared that without Big Floppa as a unifying force, the UFR would not stand united.
With the sides clearly defined as major political and military figures rushed to support their favoured leaders, war in the United Floppa Republic began as the CNL and DFC fought while Polsk set up medical facilities throughout the country to avoid casualties, though controversy soon arose as the CNL was accused of killing medics despite it denying this, soon being followed by a similar incident in the BRF. During the major battles between the DFC and CNL, a Polskan medical facility ended up caught in the crossfire and destroyed, prompting Polsk to intervene on the DFC's side due to agreeing with them ideologically, soon deploying soldiers to invade the CNL. Due to an offensive by the BRF, the DFC was forced to divert northwards though luckily Polsk was mad enough at CNL after realising they were the group behind the 'Floppa Military Junta' uprising several years prior. The CNL tried to justify itself by explaining that it wasn't explicitly nationalistic as it was moreso an 'apolitical junta', though this didn't stop Polsk, the DFC, and FEPAC from invading them. With the CNL being swept up quite easily, Polsk moved north to fight the BRF while its spacecrafts protected the FEPAC-Held UFR Space Stations, though one of these ships ended up blowing up and crashing into CNL land. The BRF began fighting back via a major tank offensive, though this slowed due to Polsk's technological superiority, prompting them to instead attack northern CNL contingents which were forced to flee south. As fighting continued in the north, FEPAC seized its opportunity to subjugate the rest of the CNL, integrating them as the 'FEPAC Southern Command' before convincing Polsk to hand over its occupied areas in return for a vague promise that it might merge with the DFC. The northern front continued to progress quite slowly despite a Polskan naval invasion, as while said invasion allowed the DFC to advance the invasion itself was encircled and defeated with only a portion of its forces evacuated via spacecraft and helicopter. With the DFC so focused on the north as Polskan forces naval invaded once more, the FEPAC suddenly proposed that instead of it joining the DFC the DFC should merge into them instead, which the DFC didn't want as FEPAC was ridiculously corrupt, leading to an argument between the two regarding their goals. Polsk ignored the crisis to the south as it kept invading the BRF, encircling its capital.
The BRF launched a major propaganda campaign as it fought against the DFC, though in the south a new crisis began for the DFC as the FEPAC launched an invasion of Floleppo over the DFC refusing to integrate, forcing the DFC to pull back forces southwards. As the north was largely handled by Polsk, the DFC's armoured and motorized divisions made a breakthrough against the FEPAC which lead to the capture of Floppascus, while Polsk tried to attack the BFR from behind. With the FEPAC clearly losing, the CNL broke away from them and certain FEPAC forces switched sides to the BRF while the BRF in the north was forced to retreat from its capital of Flophdad into the mountains, where it was able to hold off Polskan paratroopers quite well with its forts. The FEPAC's hold onto power began to weaken as the 'Transitional Government' revolted against them, though this faction would soon divide into the 'Transitional Government - Monarchists' and 'Transitional Government - Moderates' over political differences. After extensive pressuring, Polsk managed to convince the TG-Moderates to cooperate with the DFC. The BRF was trapped in the mountains and bombarded with enemy forces, leading to it beginning to slightly fracture as Sloopa's Brigade removed itself from military command. After some diplomatic pressure and negotiations, Justin Karakal was convinced to surrender in return for maintaining control over the Floppa Socialist Ba'ath Party, with several other leaders also surrendering to the DFC. The remnants of the DFC reorganized themselves under the 'Flopsandria Clique' lead by Miguel Micheal and Greg Flop in its northern pocket, while the rest of its hooldings were seized by local militias as the Bingudstan Red Army, National Bolshevist Vanguard, and United Communes of Floppastan formed, with the BRA and NBV remaining largely independent factions while the UCF supported the DFC despite Polsk's objections to said alliance. Each faction began to receive increased external support as Flop Cong, Bingterra, and Bingustan supported the FEPAC, Flopskadi and Bingland supported the CNL, Sogga Island supported the TG-Mods, Bongustan supported the BRG, and Floppa City supported the UCF.
The DFC put its focus on a second advance into Floleppo while Polsk was busy hunting down small militias, with the BRG fleeing north and the NBV making tunnels to escape under Polsk's supply lines into the wilderness to relocate. The DFC managed to push the FEPAC to the centre of Floleppo where it kept trying to hold on while Polsk was fighting the BRG. With the FEPAC being too resilient for now, the DFC launched a major southern offensive with Polskan and TG-Mod support, seeing major success. With its victory being imminent, the DFC began working towards a peace process by granting the Bingdustan region autonomy in return for the BRG disarming, allowing Sloopa Vagnov to remain a general in return for Sloopa's Brigade surrendering, and allowing there to be a monarchist political party if the TG-Monarchists surrendered. Compromise with the CNL seemed unlikely to lead anywhere good, so Polsk and the DFC launched a major offensive against them, forcing them to retreat and accept surrender in return for allowing to still serve in the military under supervision. The BRF's remnants fled out of Flopsandria into the wilderness, where they were allowed to form their own 'Ba'ath State of Floppastan' in exile in return for an armistice. With no other obstacles in their way, the DFC and Polsk struck into the last remnants of the FEPAC in Floleppo, leading to the defeat of all enemy forces.
A series of treaties to restore peace and stability to the UFR were thus signed;
- Floppascus Treaties:
- Increased funding was granted to agricultural workers, who were now allowed to form communes.
- The IDP would remain legal.
- Cooperation and National Unity Treaties:
- The FSBP, ERP, NBP, BCP, and APP would remain legal.
- Sloopa Vagnov was granted the rank of General.
- Many Ex-CNL officers retained their positions.
- Most POWs were released.
- National Unity Treaty:
- The DFC, TG-Mon, and UCF were merged into the restored United Floppa Republic.
- The United Floppa Republic was reorganized into a federal democracy.
Peace in the UFR was largely restored at this point, with only minor insurgencies by the 'Floppa Mujahideen' continuing. Polsk largely withdrew its army from the UFR at this point as well, with its ships doing a final parade formation above the UFR.
