Certain groups in former Tanume and Palladia were unsatisfied with being absorbed into Luvakhia, causing a largescale insurgency in the region. The large amount of support for the separatists lead to the Fifth Republic of Palladia and Republic of Kresy declaring independence. The Anti-Communist Defence League began funding the Palladian war effort, allowing them to begin pushing back somewhat. All of the sudden, Vedaburg seceded from Yetia and proclaimed an alliance with Palladia's war efforts, drawing Yetia into the war on Luvakhia's side while Vedaburg quickly asserted itself as Palladia's 'protector'. Yetia tried an offensive into the defiant Vedaburg, though Vedaburg's determination to not be conquered once more allowed them to break their invader's armies, leading to Yetia agreeing to sign peace, though Palladia would also surrender to Luvakhia at the same time. Vedaburg was still determined to liberate Palladia and launched an offensive into its territories to prevent it from falling to Luvakhia, which was initially quite succesful until a stalemate set in. Seeing no way to end the war, an armistice was agreed upon which lead to Palladia being split between Vedan and Luvakhian occupation.
