After a year of military occupation, Yetia began to question when it would regain its sovereignty, promptly deciding to request for its independence. Quatritonia was unwilling to give an answer, while Sipedro claimed they can be independent again in 50 years, which Yetia was annoyed by due to its poor living conditions and public disorder. Yetia reasoned that its former government prior to Chungus' takeover still existed, prompting the Sixth Kingdom of Yetia in Exile which had been formed in the unclaimed city of Isfahan to speak up, explaining that they are the most legitemate Yetian government left after fleeing into the wilderness after being defeated in the 15th Yetian Civil War. Quatritonia questioned why they did not just come to them, though they were shut down after being reminded that they had sided with the Second Yetian Empire. The Second Coalition remained hesitant to grant Yetia any kind of autonomy, though increased terrorist attacks by Yetian agitators lead to Sipedro eventually deciding to hold a conference regarding what should be done. Quatritonia demanded control over Vedaburg in return for independence, Lineland considered limited autonomy as possible, Islandia proposed total demilitarization and a interim government. The Coalition decided to go along with a modified version of Islandia's proposal, deciding to grant them their own elected government under Coalition supervision instead of a Coalition-led directorate, allowing the Third Yetian Commonwealth to be born.
The first issue to beset the new regime was its lack of leadership as Big Chungus had essentially gutted the entire Yetian political system, though after some learning they decided to attempt democracy. With all previous Yetian political parties destroyed, a collection of new Parties began to form in a competition to gain power. Alana Tremar of Quatritonia ran under the European Peace Party (Social Liberal), Gabe ran under the Ancom Party (Anarcho-Communist), Sam ran under the Ancap Party (Anarcho-Capitalist), Carl ran under the Democratic Socialist Party (Democratic Socialist), Gabriel ran under the Praise Chungus Party (Yetian Fascist), Louis ran under the Yetian Monarchist Party (Monarchist & Socially Conservative), George ran under the Centrist Party (Agrarian Liberal), Mac-Doob ran under the Please Come Back Jennifer I Miss You So Much Party (Populist), Ella ran under the Green League Party, Naddy ran under the Turkish People's Party, Will ran under the Christian Democratic Party, Harrison ran under the Animal Rights and Protection Party, John ran under the Pirate Party, Ralph ran under the Communist Party, Larnie ran under the Young Yetians Party, and Spaneolgarancena ran under the We Are Not Spies Party. The PCBJIMYSMP promised to ban divorce, the EPP promised to restore democracy and international relations as well as fix the economy and resource shortages, the GL promised environmental restoration, the WANSP promised to get rid of birds, the ARPP promised to protect animals, the Ancom Party promised to subsidise explosives.
With all parties prepared, the first round of voting occurred, resulting in incredibly mixed results, prompting the two parties that gained the most votes; the Green League Party and the European Peace Party, to assemble coalitions with the promise that the one of them which lost would become vice premiership. In the ensuing election, the GLP's Campaign managed to secure a majority of provinces, leading to Ella being elected as the next Premier alongside Alana as Vice-Premier, allowing Yetia to become somewhat functional.
