Queen Margaret of Osania died of old age without any heirs, so Osania elected its first ever president by the name of 'Karl President', which caused significant political restructurings. Deciding to take advantage of the situation, the small 'Republic of Volhi' took advantage of the crisis and demanded control over Osania's northeastern islands, which Osania refused, leading to Volhi declaring war. Volhi used its larger navy to break through and attack Osania's mainland with its armies, advancing into the lightly populated northeast. Osania outflanked Volhi by sending its navy along the coast of Sousania while it encircled the Volhian armies, cutting them off from escape and support. With most of its army dead, Osania easily invaded Volhi's mainland and instated peace, officially annexing the country.
