The current King of Utsong suddenly died, leading to his five sons to fight over the throne due to Utsong's unclear succession laws as local aristocrats swore loyalty to Prithvi, Lha-Bzang, Dakrri Sr., Dakrri Jr., and Pungsten. Prithvi's army made the first move by wiping out Pungsten's army before it could prepare, while next agreeing to split the two Dakkri's lands with Lha-Bzang, allowing the two to launch a successful invasion. Prithvi immediately betrayed Lha-Bzang as he announced his ambitions for a new Utsongan empire, maintaining his momentum long enough to defeat all remaining opposition and secure the creation of the Second Utsongan Khanate.
