Cheems was elected to become the new governor of the Linelandic Shibe Isles, promptly declaring independence and war on Lineland, leading to Petoria sending aid to the Shibe Isles and Sizzle sending aid to Lineland. The Shibe Isles took the momentum first, launching an invasion of Petropavlovsk until the Linelandic army showed up and kicked them out, prompting them to try to invade Sakhalin next. The Sakhalin campaign was initially more successful for the Shibes until Lineland managed to cause a stalemate, launching a counteroffensive thanks to Sizzlean aid, prompting the Shibes to bomb beijing. Fearing defeat, the Shibe Isles signed a peace treaty in which it would gain independence but had to return all the land it occupied.
