Transcript

Tenno's Travels - Chapter 1 - A President's Duty

"Who is it?"

"We asked to see you."

"I told you.. no meetings today."

"And that's final."

"There's big celebrations coming up, I need to work harder... plan more..."

"Surely you don't think people actually care about the quarter millennial?"

He sighs.

"It's final."

"Alright dear, now let's not say something we're going to regret.. hmm?"

He hears two people walk away, judging by their footsteps.

"Who are those people?" he says, turning to his aide

"No idea, Mr President."

More knocks are heard.

"WHO IS IT?"

"Andrei Varady, sir."

"Huh?"

"Come in.."

"Sit down.. sit..."

Andrei says "Good day, Mr President."

The President says "What brings you here."

"Sorry.. It's just been a long day."

Andrei says "Did they come knocking at your door?"

The President says "...."

"What?"

"Those people?"

Andrei says "Mhhhmm?"

"Right.."

"No...no I see."

The President says "What is it?"

Andrei says "Nothing..."

He discreetly writes on a notepad.

"Mmm.."

"That's all."

"Oh!"

"Sakura!"

Tenno pokes her head around the door.

Sakura says "Gooood day to you Mr President."

The President says "Wh- ah- WHO IS THIS?"

A huge thud is heard.

It sounds like a muted explosion.

Sakura says "Ooooh.. that doesnt sound promising.."

Andrei says "Best you come with us.."

The President says "..."

"I'm trusting you..."

They leave the room and walk down the corridor

They look out the window, to see a bright, clear, sunny day.

A thud is heard again.

The President says "What is the meaning of this.."

Sakura says "Those people.."

"They have a lot of secrets."

Andrei says "And they are coming for yours too.."

President says "What?"

Sakura says "After all, secrets are hidden..."

"How else are you supposed to collect all the knowledge of this world?"

Andrei says "What she said... yeah."

President says "...."

They go to the ship hangar

Sakura says "This yours?"

President says "Well this is my house..."

Andrei says "I like it."

"Very nice.."

They step outside and see a huge fleet of ships hovering above Mylonagrad

In an instant, they reappear on the main ship, courtesy of a tear.

President says "WHA-"

"Huh?!"

"Why are we up here now?!"

"Why am I-"

Sakura says "Shhhh... sit down!"

"It's okay."

He feels the ships engines charging up

All ships ready to jump to hyperspace.

Andrei says "Wanna come on a journey?"

President says "CERTAINLY NOT!"

"AND WHY ME?"

Sakura says "You're 73rd on our list."

President says "So you've asked 72 others?"

Andrei says "I know right? Missed opportunity and all.."

President says "Missed opportunity..?"

"And this "list"..."

"Why am I on this list?"

Sakura says "Well.. we can go find out."

"if you come with us."

"It might be important, no one knows.."

President says "Do you have the ability to put me back at my desk right now, as if nothing happened?"

Sakura says "Yeees."

President says "What about in one year from now?"

Andrei says "Yeeeeees...?"

President says "Uggh.."

"If it's this important.."

"I'm entrusting you, Andrei, this better be goddamn important."

Andrei says "Well, I don't know yet."

"Will it?"

The fleet jumps to hyperspace.

Chapter 2 - Gone, not forgotten yet

Tenno says "Wait."

She suddenly feels a headache.

Andrei says "Are you okay?"

She sees her hand glowing green.

Tenno says "Oh no."

Anahita says "Is that bad?"

Tenno says "Agh... well.."

"It could be taken a few ways."

"Such disasters, figments of the mind..."

She sees a vision of Mount Orientalis erupting green energy.

"That can only mean one thing.."

"The Renunciation was ineffective."

Andrei says "What does that mean?"

Tenno says "That when I tried to give up my divine power.."

"SHE stopped me."

"Made me believe that I had... yet I hadn't."

Andrei says "She?"

Tenno says "Oh dear... oh no no no.."

"We can't chart a course there.."

President says "Chart a course where?"

Tenno says "Exactly."

Andrei says "WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?"

Alarms start blaring on the ship

Tenno says "Area of high meteorological activity? WHAT?!"

"Aghhh... not good.."

"The place- AGH! The place I mean..."

"It keeps... moving around..."

"It's impossible to find it by charting a course."

"We need to look for it... and hope we find it."

"And I know a way.."

"But it could take a REALLY long time.."

She uses her Dendro power on the flight computer

"I wish you weren't still here right now!!"

They jump to hyperspace, evading the bad conditions.

Andrei says "Who is she?"

Tenno says "I can't tell you any more."

"All you need to know is that the Power of the Nine still lingers."

"The Gods still have their mortal forms.."

"But if their powers are left unkept any longer, they could spiral into evil."

"When there is an incomplete "renunciation", the power grows corrupting."

"What Nihilantis did at Anor Londo.."

"He absorbed the power of Miraak and all the other gods."

"Although he achieved his goal, the power did not dissipate."

"His body was too weak to eliminate this concentrate of power."

"So it dispersed still, weak but corrupted."

"And slowly found its way to its owners one by one as they returned to normal life."

"If we don't renunciate it now..."

"Theia is in mortal danger."

"We need to find her, and stop this at once."

Andrei says "And how do you plan to find HER?"

Tenno says "We need to locate one of my close confidantes."

"His name is Helleborus."

"Luckily, we can chart a course to him."

"Still though, the route is dangerous and unkept.."

"Let's take this one step at a time."

Chapter 3 - Hell Raining

A catastrophic earthquake is detected in the southern Atlantic.

A large plume of ash sweeps over Africa

A volcanic winter ensues

Another ash plume sweeps South America

The ash begins to fall, like some kind of nuclear fallout

The volcano is still erupting..

Eventually, things start to settle down, but the ash clouds remain.

The ash clouds over the eruption site begin to dissipate, leaving an island.

Carbonado, head of Asophania, says "We need to blockade the island."

Taylor Martin, head of Denasola, says "Why?"

Carbonado says "We need to prevent conflict."

Carbonado says "...."

"There is."

"I'm barring the island from anyone else."

"I need to investigate, and carefully."

Carbonado sends a small boat of about 10 troops and scientists to the island.

The fleet stays moored about 2km out.

Nearing closer, the island is slightly barren in appearance, but the climate is mediterranean.

They land on a slightly steep beach.

Seagulls can be heard.

"That's weird..."

"Wasn't there just an eruption?"

One of the scientists jumps.

"I.. just heard whispering.."

"Don't be stupid."

They wade through the thick grasses towards the center of the island.

Yet there is no evidence of an eruption.

"Report back to fleet these findings."

An hour goes by without any response.

Another hour goes past.

Carbonado says "They should have been back 30 minutes ago.."

"Oh no.... okay."

"Alright, we need to send another landing party."

The other landing party arrives at the same beach.

They see trails of blood.

"Command. There's blood."

"Oh no.."

"Well get the hell out of there!"

"We...we are.."

"Huh.."

"There's people here.."

"People?"

"OUR people?"

"No..."

"Th.."

"He's holding an arm."

"I..it's covered in bite marks."

"GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!"

"Nononono.."

"Cannibals.."

"THEY'RE CANNI- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHGHGHHHHH"

Someone from the boat watches with binoculars

They see both landing boats empty, and glimpse a figure dragging a dismembered torso up the beach.

Carbonado says "We need to uphold the blockade."

"Though... we have a name for this island now."

"Cannibal Island. Hmm."

A Cotunauinian government plane lands in Chalonaja

"Oh."

"He's here for the Trilateral Conference."

A Confederate plane lands shortly after.

Figureheads from the 3 governments meet.

Carbonado, representing Asophania/Denasola

Nikolay Petrov, Premier of the Confederacy

Eucleia, grand chief of the Iujado.

Carbonado says "I am confident you are all aware of the recent eruption?"

Nikolay and Eucleia both nod.

Carbonado says "We made a discovery."

"We still cannot ascertain the chain of events that led to the ash cloud.."

"But on arrival we found no such evidence of an eruption."

Eucleia says "Hmm?"

"Are you inferring this ash cloud was... artificial?"

Nikolay says "or not from volcanic origin."

Carbonado says "Well.."

"Another model we drew up was some sort of... hyper-localised limnic eruption."

Eucleia says "So.."

"You reckon that the bodies of water on the island, or even around the island, contained vast quantities of... carbonic acid?"

"That's still volcanic.."

Carbonado says "Unless there's something else leaking carbon dioxide."

"Maybe theres more to this island than volcanic activity.."

"Which brings me to my next point."

"Both our landing parties were killed."

"By... cannibals."

Nikolay says "Oh."

He mutters an "oh no" under his breath.

Carbonado says "What was that?"

Nikolay says "nothing."

"Just a prayer."

He looks at Nikolay wearily.

An alarm sounds.

Carbonado says "oh."

"I'm needed elsewhere."

"I cannot dismiss this meeting."

"Please. Stay put."

Carbonado leaves but the guards stay.

Nikolay says "Oh no."

Eucleia says "What is it?"

Nikolay says "He's up to no good."

"There's something we're missing.."

"We came here to discuss economic ties."

"But he wants to draw our attention to this island.."

Eucleia says "So we're out the loop?"

"But then again?"

"Carbonado? Sinister?"

"Those words don't go hand in hand.."

Nikolay says "What do you say we do?"

Eucleia says "Follow him?"

Nikolay nods.

They stand up, and walk towards the door.

The armed guards step in front of it.

Nikolay sighs, and signals his own guards.

They duck, and the guards in front of them are battered with gunfire.

They punch the keypad, opening the door.

Alarms begin sounding.

Nikolay says "Service tunnel."

"Get in here!"

They enter a maintenance corridor.

It passes under the main corridor, with ventilation holes leading upwards.

After running, they see a fast-paced Carbonado running down the hall.

They see him use an iris scanner to open a door.

Passing under the door, they continue following him.

An announcer is heard in the distance.

Anomaly detected. Admin input required.

Nikolay whispers "What is that?"

Eucleia shrugs.

He enters another door, and is lit up by dark blue lights.

They crouch down to peer through vents.

Nikolay says "What the hell.."

They see a vast cloning facility, similar to the likes of Mei'ra.

Nikolay says "Hey.."

"Isn't this Mei'ran technology?!"

Nikolay says "What is he doing?"

Eucleia says "He's trying to incubate more.."

"B-but why is he cloning Iujado?!"

Carbonado above them turns back and starts walking back the way they came.

Eucleia says "We're running out of time."

She kicks the vent and they fall down into the cloning hall.

They walk in between housing areas and canteens and recreational areas.

"There must be..."

"Hundreds of thousands.."

They enter one of the areas marked "EDUCATION"

They witness a soldier, and they hide from view.

They overhear him teaching many Iujado clone children.

"And what will you grow up to do?"

They all answer "Be a soldier!"

"And who will you fight?"

"The whole world."

"And will you win?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because I am indestructible."

Eucleia says "Shit.."

"They haven't have they...?"

Carbonado says "And what do you think you're doing?"

Eucleia says "AAH!"

The soldiers nearby are alerted.

Carbonado says "GET THEM!"

Nikolay says "RUN!"

They start running down the corridor, and swing a right into another.

They see crates marked with [GENETIC MATERIAL]

The soldiers begin firing down the corridor.

Eucleia says "WE NEED A GUN!"

Nikolay says "DO I LOOK LIKE I HAVE A GUN?!"

They take another turn into a busy canteen.

They jump on top of the tables, jumping from one to another to try and draw fire away.

One of the soldiers hits an exposed wire in the ceiling, and it catches fire.

Many Iujado are engulfed in the fire.

Eucleia says "NO!"

"THEY'LL-"

They emerge from the fire unscathed.

"They-"

"They did it.."

Nikolay grabs her arm, and they keep running.

They take a sharp turn into a maintenance corridor.

Nikolay bolts the door, followed by repeated bangs from soldiers.

They keep on running until they run out of breath.

Eucleia says "I... agh... really shouldn't have jinxed it.."

Nikolay says "Jinxed... what.."

Eucleia says "That he was up to no good.."

"Nikolay.."

"They didn't die in the fire.."

Nikolay says "So they made them indestructible..?"

"And so what?"

Eucleia says "Nikolay.."

"Fire is like an allergy to Iujado."

"They just start... melting.."

Nikolay says "So these are genetically enhanced?"

Eucleia says "Modified indeed."

"Did you see those crates as we were running?"

Nikolay puts on his glasses.

"I'm short sighted..."

Eucleia says "They contained receptacles of... "genetic material.""

"I think we have an army of Nihilists on our hands."

Nikolay says "Nihilists?"

Eucleia says "The ones who so disgracefully ruined the Iujado name."

"Unwillingly."

"When the Theian cataclysm occurred, it was because of the Hydro God."

"In his insanity, he brainwashed his own people, raising them as his own army, and they sought to destroy everything."

"Many times before, the people of Yata have claimed victory over the Nihilists."

"Yet they keep coming back."

"This time though?"

"It's not just the Nihilists."

"Nihilantis, the Hydro God, is dead."

"So what is Carbonado doing?"

"And why does he want to invade the world with this indestructible army?"

Nikolay says "So you think.. he's been brainwashed?"

He pulls out his phone.

Eucleia says "It wouldn't be out of the question."

A voice comes from the phone.

"Thank you Eucleia."

A dial tone is heard.

Nikolay says "Alright.."

"That's our testimony to the SDS."

Eucleia says "I didn't know you were an affiliate.."

Nikolay says "Likewise."

"You have some impressive skills.."

Eucleia says "You too. Otherwise you wouldn't have discerned I was an affiliate too."

Nikolay chuckles.

"We really get each other, huh?"

Eucleia says "Stop that.."

"No more games."

"I have an idea."

"I assume they are maintaining this brainwash with some kind of AI hive mind now Nihilantis is gone."

"And that the indoctrination programme is for consolidation and enrichment."

"If we can find that.."

"Maybe we can turn the army on him."

"Then we just need to find out a way to disconnect them from the hive mind without killing them."

Nikolay says "How do you know it would kill them?"

Eucleia says "Rule number zero of creating a clone army."

"Never threaten a contingency."

"I saw some signposts pointing to the genetic laboratories."

"If you'd follow me.."

Nikolay laughs again.

Nikolay says "Always."

After pacing through the hallways avoiding soldiers and cameras, they reach Genetics.

Eucleia says "Hmm.."

"It's empty.."

"Huh.."

"Look at this.."

Nikolay says "The transfer protocols.."

"Ah yes.. I remember."

"My first consultation as Premier was mediating the transfer of personnel from all Asophanian facilities to TERAPRO."

"I still don't know why that was necessary.."

"Only ACREDEVRO had been threatened."

"Oh well.. it was probably due to power shortages."

"So this must be his one man project?"

Eucleia says "My respect for him has gone down but you need to remember."

"This man is an unformidable reservoir of knowledge."

Nikolay says "I like the metaphor."

Eucleia says "Hmmph.."

They walk over to a scanner scanning a vial.

"This must be the source code."

She finds an identical vial, and keeps it.

Nikolay says "What are you doing?"

Eucleia says "It's.. respect."

They find a large machine in the back of the room.

It has a large lever on it.

Nikolay tries to pull it but it is locked.

He sees a keyhole.

"Know how to pick a lock?"

Eucleia says "I've tried."

"Buuut.."

"No use in not trying is there?"

She examines the keyhole.

"This is far too intricate."

"We need the key.."

"And you can only guess who is going to have that."

Nikolay says "So we need to get him here."

"And get his key.."

Eucleia says "Can you put up a fight?"

Nikolay says "He literally dresses like a martial artist."

"And you want me to-"

"Look."

"I can't think of any alternative option so..."

"Mmmm.."

He scans the room for weapons.

"Nothing."

He stares at his fists.

"No use, these-"

Eucleia smashes a window, and an alarm sounds.

"Now we wait for him."

Nikolay says "God... you could have given some warning."

"Uhhh..."

He enters a small storage room and finds a crate of [GENETIC MATERIAL]

He pulls it out and cranks it open.

Eucleia says "What's that for?"

Nikolay says "I'm just looking.."

"Can I not look?"

Eucleia says "I-"

"I have no objections really.."

The door bangs open.

Carbonado is wielding nunchucks.

"You called?"

Eucleia says "What are you doing."

Carbonado says "My intentions are not of your concern."

Eucleia says "I don't think you are aware of the repurcussions.."

"You know what this source material is?!"

"This is the source material that ALMOST DROVE ALL OF US TO EXTINCTION."

"AND NOW... you're using it for yourself.."

Carbonado lunges at her.

Eucleia says "Hh.. Don't you dare."

She swings around him, narrowly avoiding his nunchucks.

She throws a punch, but he dodges too.

Nikolay runs into the fight, throwing punches at Carbonado.

He dodges every hit.

He throws his nunchucks like a boomerang, hitting them both.

Eucleia says "AGH!"

He clicks his fingers

Iujado soldiers come marching in.

The two are backed up to the wall.

Nikolay says "Oh no oh no oh no.."

He reaches into Eucleia's pocket

Eucleia says "HEY!"

He throws the glass vial at the group of Iujado.

They begin screaming and start melting.

Carbonado says "WHAT?!"

He screams and lunges

He reaches to hit with the nunchucks, but his look of anger slowly turns to shock

A thorny vine envelops him

Nikolay stares in disbelief

The vine manifests into a human figure, and shakes out the key.

He is then thrown out the window.

A tall, elegant figure stares at them from across the room.

She beckons towards the key.

Eucleia slides onto the floor in shock

Nikolay scrambles to pick up the key.

She starts walking over, her high heels elegantly clapping against the polished floor.

He puts the key in the keyhole, and turns it.

He hears a metal clunk.

He grasps the lever, pulling it down with all his strength.

Eucleia watches as all the Iujado outside collapse.

"We don't have much time, children."

Eucleia says "Wh.. who are you calling children?"

"What? Do you object motherly love?"

Eucleia says "Motherly.. love.."

"..."

"No..."

"It can't be.."

"Mother...?"

Wisteria says "Come here, child."

Nikolay collapses next to the mechanism, catching his breath as he stares at the two embracing.

Eucleia says "What are you doing here?!"

Wisteria says "Tenno is searching for me."

She looks over at Nikolay.

"You must be Eucleia's friend."

Nikolay says "I..."

Wisteria says "Come here, dear."

"I have something to show you two."

Nikolay walks over, and all three of them vanish.

Almost instantaneously, Tenno, Andrei, Anahita and the Tritonian President, Ioann appear in the room.

Sakura says "AGH! GODDAMNIT!"

Helleborus appears shortly after.

"YOU TOLD ME SHE'D BE HERE!"

Helleborus says "SHE WAS!"

"SHE WAS LITERALLY HERE.."

"You can see the footsteps.."

Black, space-like footprints are seen on the floor, slowly dissipating.

Andrei says "Asophania."

"What is even going on here?!"

Anahita says "Hold on.."

She replays the lingering memories of the room.

Sakura says "A clone factory?"

Andrei says "Carbonado?"

He runs to the window to see Carbonado run down the cloning hall

The Iujado slowly start to wake up.

With natural instinct, they begin to attack the soldiers.

A riot begins.

Sakura says "Oh god.."

"Andrei.."

"Get back from the window."

"Don't let them see you.."

Helleborus says "It appears the machine wasn't a contingency of any sort.."

"It was acting with the sole purpose to brainwash."

"Their docile state wasn't some kind of normal form."

Andrei says "So what do we do?"

Sakura says "Whatever Wisteria was up to here.."

"We need to let it pan out.."

Andrei receives a message from the SDS.

It is a voice recording, and it appears to be Nikolay and Eucleia, yet they do not know this.

At the end, the "Thank you, Eucleia" is heard.

Sakura says "Oh.."

"So it wasn't just her.."

"It was her daughter too.."

Ioann says "What?!"

"They took the premier?!"

Anahita says "This is most troubling.."

Helleborus says "And it looks like we are involved now."

Sakura says "It's one thing we fell into trying to search for Wisteria."

"But I suppose we have a lot of time on our hands.."

Andrei says "Sakura... you know this is important to me anyway."

"It's best we get to the bottom of this."

"And find a way to rid this Iujado problem, because look.."

He looks at the mechanism.

"It's restarting."

Sakura says "Oh."

"It's some temporary disabling mechanism used when replacing AI code.."

The mechanism fully restarts.

Sakura says "I know how we can buy some time though, knowingly the soldiers will shoot us on sight.."

She presses a mobilisation button.

All the ready Iujado soldiers start streaming out of the facility on elevators.

Sakura says "Go on."

She beckons to an elevator.

"Go outside."

"Stay hidden."

"Observe their behaviour for me.."

A state of emergency is declared.

Taylor arrives at the scene where the emerging Iujado are.

Carbonado is there.

Taylor says "Carbonado."

"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!"

"IUJADO SOLDIERS?!"

Carbonado says "Well, you see..."

Taylor says "No."

"Stop with your excuses."

"For so long this country has suffered because of your games."

The Iujado soldiers revert to a killing spree on civilians.

Sakura says "Uhhh.."

"I didn't even pull the lever..."

Sakura says "Damn it..."

"He still has control..."

She radios in to Andrei

"Guys."

"Get the hell out of there."

"He's about to wage all-out war with Taylor."

Taylor orders the army on the Iujado.

Within seconds, warfare breaks out on the streets of Chalonaja, and it isn't long before the Denasolins begin to be overwhelmed.

With nowhere else to run, Denasolin soldiers scramble into buildings to avoid gunfire.

A soldier comes running upstairs to find Anahita, Ioann, Helleborus and Andrei.

"What are you doing here?!"

"You need to get out of the city!"

"Theres no time to l-"

He is bludgeoned through the chest with a spear.

He falls, revealing an Iujado behind him.

Before it can attack, it collapses to the ground.

Helleborus says "The mechanism reset... thank god.."

Sakura reaches them.

"Guys.. that was not me.."

"Carbonado still has control.."

Andrei says "Then what do we do?"

Sakura says "Run now, think later."

"The wormhole device is still burnt out.."

"But there's a... multitude of cars outside."

They run outside in front of the Denasolin army.

Sakura waves her hands.

"RECUPERATE WHILE YOU CAN." she shouts, "THEY'LL WAKE UP SOON!"

"AND IT WONT BE LONG BEFORE CARBONADO FINDS A WAY TO MAKE THEM HOSTILE FOREVER."

"GO!"

The army runs off, carrying the injured and staggering into tanks.

The group then get into a car and drive off.
